Samsung Juke, LG Venus, BlackBerry Pearl 8130, LG Voyager launch dates
Remember our Verizon Ninja? He’s back with launch dates for Verizon’s big 4. As you can see from the image above, the Samsung Juke will launch online on October 19th, but is available for pre-order on October 9th. When have Verizon devices been available for pre-order? Anyway, the LG Venus will be available for pre-order October 19th and available online November 4th. The one most people have been waiting for — the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 — will grace your leather cases and USB chargers on November 8th, with pre-ordering starting October 26th. Finally, we’ve got the LG Voyager punching in for pre-ordering on November 8th, with online availability November 18th. That’s all folks!
The Above release Dats only matched the Juke. It says that on 10/19 the venus would be released but still no release. Does anyone have further info on this.
I like how everyone is says verizons phone is like the iphone! i didnt know that att/cingluar are the ONLY phone company allowed to have a touch screen phone! im sorry i wont switch phone companys just for the iphone. I coudnt be happier the voyager is coming out and be VERY proud to carry this “wannabee” around!
I was anxiously awaiting Oct. 19th as well for the venus pre-order. Such a perfect timing since I qualify for the new every 2 year now. But where is it?!
I’m still keeping my fingers crossed that it’s at least released Nov. 4 though.
If anything, I’m sure they’ll be out by thanksgiving, but I just don’t want to wait that long!

that states that the Venus will be available for pre-order 11/8 and released 11/19
Looks like I’ll have to wait another month til I can get it in my hands
New VZW customer here…my 30 day test drive is up on 12 or 13 November. I want to trade my junky V3m Razr for the Venus. If I preorder it as soon as it’s available (11/8) will it count as being within my window to exchange phones? Anyone from VZW out there that might know?? I’ve got to have that phone!! Thanx~~
redcandy if i’m not mistaken ,no ur gonna have to physically have the phone for that to work, it should be available for preorder on 11/8 but they’re not gonna ship it until 11/19 when it becomes available.
Thanx. Since it’s my test drive maybe I will drop Verizon because I’m not satisfied with the phones and I want the Venus. Surely they wouldn’t want to lose a customer for being a couple of days over the exchange period.

They’re just updating the EnV, which happens to be a kick ass phone.
Not only does verizon have the best & truly most reliable network, the new EnV will have an EXTERNAL battery. Hello?!
besides the fact that it has a full qwerty keyboard which all of us texters know its an amazing thing to have.
Sure it does compete with the iphone, but theres no comparison.
I learned from a very reliable source that LG VOyager will be out not the 18th but the 21st of November..DAMN..I can’t wait…
are the screens gonna be scratch resistance like the iphones? i own lgenvy n looks so bad now cuz of the scratches.

i am waiting for the blackberry pearl cause as much as i like the touch screen , i think the pearl trackball will do just fine , and less smudges on the screen
Well, its the 26th and guess what…NO PRE-ORDER Pearl from VZW.
I have been loyal to a fault at this point. If you are going to leak dates then at least have the decency to stick to it….Once can only hope that full launch is still the 1st of Nov. But according to my biz rep we are looking at mid month now, what gives???

Another week of waiting, and yet AGAIN, No pre-order date for either Venus, or Pearl
What is going on? Are they deliberatly extending the dates or what I mean come on allready…. I’ve been waiting for this launch for months now and we are still standing by.. come on

I’m bumming…they must be extending the dates. I spoke with cust service at VZW and they told me the Venus will be available around the 21-24 of November. At first they were kind of secretive about it all until I told them to drop it ’cause the info’s all on the internet anyway. All I want is to trade in this low end Razr for the Venus.
I’m really bummed b/c my “Test Drive” is up on 14 Nov. I will talk to the manager of the store I got my phones at and see about getting an extension to exchange my phone (junky Razr v3m). I don’t want to pay full price (about 349.00)for the Venus either. If they won’t do me the favor of letting me exchange it I guess I can get out of my contract before the 30 days are up and take my $$ elsewhere. Afterall, the Venus will get them about 200-250.00 from me compared to the free Razrs we got with the new service.
Great, so they’re extending the release dates past what Van had posted from that website that said Nov. 19? And I thought that Venus was going to be cheaper than voyager and only hover around the $200-$250 mark.
yeah i just read that website i referred to, and the confirmed prices (toward teh end of the post) are listed. Venus will be an initial price of $250.
the price of the venus will be either $200 with a $50 dollar rebate or $250 with a $50 rebate either way the most it will be is $200 dollars(unlikely) but worth every penny.
the voyager will be around $300 and as for the release dates the voyagers still hasnt been confirmed by verizon.
from above pricing for the voyager is less than i expected………Pricing looks like it will either be $249.99 or possibly $299.99 with a $50 mail in rebate. The included HTML browser will work off of the regular $15/mo Vcast plan (rumors are that the $5 net access plan will be discontinued soon).
The full retail price if you’re not eligible for any of Verizon’s deals such as new every two, etc is 349.99, and 249.99 if you are within the terms of the contract agreements, i.e. 30 day exchange window,or within 1st year (primary line), or the new every two deal. They “didn’t know” of any rebates the day I spoke with them but you know how that goes.
Also, I spoke with the Verizon rep where I bought my phones and they’ll let me get the Venus when it comes out without paying the full price which was good to hear since it will be only one week past my 30 day exchange period…they didn’t want to lose me as a customer.

In spite of all of the excitement with these new phones coming out, and everyone wanting them ASAP, we know the really good prices will be a few months from now when the initial craze of it all is a thing of the past.
I don’t get it. How can a company just willy nilly extend a date the last minute. Isn’t getting a popular phone out something that would require some planning and coordination?? Don’t they have to plan a head a little and ship out TONS of product to each store???
I just don’t see how a company can coordinate such a large effort in a week’s time. And then perhaps decide to delay things again or move things ahead?? I just don’t see that being possible.
I can hardly remember to ship out my 10 holiday presents to relatives. How is VZW going to ship out 200,000+ phones the last minute?

It is a marketing ploy. They do it so that you want it even more by the time it actually comes out, so you pay more for it. I hate it too, but you goota think, it is smart.

to answer your question, verizon would be stupid to release all the new phones out in a year at once. As we know right now the Juke is the only “new” phone available to consumers, but the reason the release dates are spread out is to ensure that the product will be sold efficently and that there is time for consumers to not be rushed into buying a new phone. As for shipping the phones, the phones will already be at your local store a day or so before the actual relase date.

One of the biggest complaints of the iPhone was the ability to txt. With the LG Voyager, open the clamshell and theres a full QWERTY keyboard to address that problem. Hah
