Samsung Juke, LG Venus, BlackBerry Pearl 8130, LG Voyager launch dates

Remember our Verizon Ninja? He’s back with launch dates for Verizon’s big 4. As you can see from the image above, the Samsung Juke will launch online on October 19th, but is available for pre-order on October 9th. When have Verizon devices been available for pre-order? Anyway, the LG Venus will be available for pre-order October 19th and available online November 4th. The one most people have been waiting for — the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 — will grace your leather cases and USB chargers on November 8th, with pre-ordering starting October 26th. Finally, we’ve got the LG Voyager punching in for pre-ordering on November 8th, with online availability November 18th. That’s all folks!

Someone said it in an earlier post, but I feel the need to second it:
“Where the f*!K is the XV6800?!?!”
Doesn’t VZW know that’s what we’re all waiting for?
Damn. If AT&T service wasn’t such crap, I’d leave in a heart-beat for the Tilt.

I must say that I agree.

Verizon has released the Voyager, the “iPhone copy”, an dyet it has solved all the woes of the iPhone owners.

    What’s up with my battery?
    Where is the keyboard?
Can’t I use my phone without the touchscreen sensitivity?

Read it and weep. Besides, I love Verizon. It most certainly is reliable.

” Verizon today launched its most concerted effort yet to respond to the iPhone and to improve its music phone lineup with four new devices. The carrier began with its most ambitious device ever, the LG Voyager. Also known as the VX10000, the handset is one of LG’s first touchscreen phones to target the US and includes a more iPhone-like interface based on that of the Prada phone; users can place calls, play AAC/MP3/WMA music, and take 2-megapixel photos almost exclusively from the screen. However, the device is also one of the first LG touch models to offer a keyboard alternative: flipping open the device reveals a lengthwise QWERTY keyboard and a secondary screen for e-mail, text messaging, and games. It also supports V CAST TV for live digital TV viewing and stores as much as 8GB of media on a microSDHC card.
The Voyager will make its Internet connection through Verizon’s EV-DO 3G network and will support virtually all of the provider’s extra services. Subscribers can buy songs from the V CAST music store or receive assisted GPS routing through VZ Navigator, the company says.”

Ummm… this isn’t the first with a iPhone look-a-like. Nokia has had one for a while now. Not sure of the release date, but they were plastering it all over CNN Headline News and Fox News for probably 3 weeks or so. So tisk tisk to you for not looking around.

Who knows what other odd ball phone companies have some form of a iPhone in development or available .

You are clearly an Apple guy. What is funny that your precious iphone was so close to being apart of VZ that you don’t even know it. Don’t be jealous now….

Does anyone here not recall correctly that the iPhone is actually a “copy” of the LG Prada?

The Prada was revealed first at the trades (and won awards, I might add). It was also RELEASED FIRST in Europe. So, now that they are introducing a new touchscreen phone for the US market, it’s an iPhone copy? HELLO?

As far as I am concerned, the iPhone is the wannabe.

The Juke actually has a VGA camera on it and is not EVDO capble. It looks cool but its meant to be mostly a music player were you can use your own music from your computer rather then using the EVDO network to download your music through VZ.

One thing that really sucks about the iphone is that you can’t mass text anyone.. How could you make a brand new phone without that capability.. Can’t wait to see the Voyager.. I heard from a Verizon Rep that its going to be much cheaper than expected.. and its going to be on the regular pricing plans!

Ugh… It’s impossible to go on a site pertaining to the LG Voyager and have someone not compare it to the iPhone. I hope you guys are owners of the iPhone rather than just “fan boys”. I own an iPhone, but I see potential in the LG Voyager in places the iPhone fails and vice versa. For people who are stuck between which phone to buy, go for the one that best suits YOU. Don’t go with popularity.

Anyone know if the Voyager will compare with business capabilities - exchange server/enterprise, document and attachment viewing to what is available on the Blackberry Pearl?

Great question “em”… I’m totally torn between the Blackberry Pearl or the Voyager. Besides the style of the Voyager’s touch screen.. which phone is really better? I have currently have a BB8703, so I love my full keyboard, calender, tasks, multiple e-mail accounts, etc.. but if the Voyager can have as business savy specs as BB then I’m aboard!! ANY INFO ON SPEC COMPARISON BETWEEN THE NEW PEARL VS THE VOYAGER?? (esp business capabilities!?)
