Remember our Verizon Ninja? He’s back with launch dates for Verizon’s big 4. As you can see from the image above, the Samsung Juke will launch online on October 19th, but is available for pre-order on October 9th. When have Verizon devices been available for pre-order? Anyway, the LG Venus will be available for pre-order October 19th and available online November 4th. The one most people have been waiting for — the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 — will grace your leather cases and USB chargers on November 8th, with pre-ordering starting October 26th. Finally, we’ve got the LG Voyager punching in for pre-ordering on November 8th, with online availability November 18th. That’s all folks!

what is a disappointment!!! they had us thinkin tomorrow was gonna be the release date with the countdown and all, only to find out we gotta wait another month!!! That’s BS man!!!

Countdown’s are known to be huge marketing ploys that never signal a launch, but rather only an announcement.. People should be used to it by now in this day and age.

Lol I find this humorous the apple fanboys we’re all hyped up for tha pos ibrick thenverizon trys the same hype ploy. Cept with a count down.
What they should do is run a TV ad for ther 8130 flash som pics of it an post the release date coming on day x the crackberry perl world edtion, shamles plug yada yada. There’s your 30 seconds.
Run them next week that’s how you market hype. But it’s verizoff so my attitude is somewhat appethetic

the fact that verizon had the countdown set without every formally announcing any of the 4 phones should have be a huge sign that they werent going to be released in a couple days. thats your fault for being stupid not theirs for creating interest. personally i fall into the group waiting for the pearl2 but with a release so close to the voyager, an in depth review of the voyager might go a long way to making me wait the week and pick it up instead. personally i just dont like having a phone that EVERYONE on earth has too, i still rock my BLUE vx7000 (had the mpx220 for about a day before taking that POS back to cingular) for sakes.
anyone know if verizon is planning on preventing me from using my own mp3s as ringtones on the pearl2? how much of the phone are they really limiting and please verizon haters dont respond with your EVERYTHING posts, this is a real question so only real responses please.

Does anyone else thinks it’s pathetic that VZ is trying launching an “iPhone-like” product? It clearly will not be as good as the iphone and I wouldn’t be caught dead carrying the wannabe device. Tisk tisk VZ…you should know better.

What about the new HTC phones?? XV6800? Hello Verizon..anybody out there?

@bye_bye_jack I don’t think so at all. Its about time that someone started offering something to compete. It was only a matter of time before touchscreen phones started to become mainstream in the market. I can’t stress this enough. Apple was not the first cell phone maker, Apple was not first to market with a touchscreen, Apple was not first to play music on a cellphone, Apple was not first to play video on a phone, and Apple was not first to browse the internet on a cell phone. If you want to make the arguement then say they were first to do all of those things well on one device. But stop with the iPhone copycat talk please

It’s not my language - read the press release. VZ is pitching it as an iPhone competitor. I think it’s sad and can’t wait to make fun of everyone who buys it.

well bye_bye_jack get ready to make fun of me because i will seriously consider it when it is being sold.
verizon has done a great job of being my mobile phone company with call quality and i was not about to shift to at&t just for an iphone.
and i would bet that apple will be upping the ante with new iphone hardware next spring anyway - i am an apple fan - and old iphones will be on ebay by the thousands.

I really like Apple Computers…Macs. But when it comes to their devices, there is nothing that says the competition can’t match or beat them in terms of functionality. The Voyager is not a “iPhone Killer.” It is a complementing product that offers different users options.
Why does everyone always assume there can only be on player in this game?

No one is saying that Apple is the only player. What I am saying is that it is pathetic to launch a touch screen phone with the same old crappy user experiences. iPhone wins because it didn’t pay attention to the mobile experience and try to simply repack it - it reinvented it. VZ is launching just another sad attempt at the old mousetrap.

Just in case you didn’t know. Verizon Wireless turned down the Iphone. Which by the way was a great business decison. And if you knew anything about the Iphone and all the problems it’s had. I don’t think you would be given it so much praise. You really need to get your facts straight.

Went on the site posted by naa and those phones look like Verizon is trying, except for the Juke (piece of shiiiiiiiiit for sure), and lets all hope they don’t run on Verizon’s shoot-your-kneecaps-so-you-don’t-have-to-have-the-pain-of-using-it OS.

I’m sold on it I mean I have a great plan with verizon that At&T can’t even touch, I considered switching just for the Iphone but it wasn’t worth it. So now I’m stuck with my crappy razor for another month before I can buy this but I’ll be buying this the day its out.

Im totally FOR the Voyager. Can’t wait until it lands….pun intended
Honestly its fresh, and with the sweet touch screen, it adds a touch of class. So much easier to just pick n choose what you want instead of scrolling here, pushing this, and that…just tap-n-go. The Iphone is sooooo confusing and hard to tap what you want..or so has been my experience with it at the Apple store. Another cool thing is the qwerty board. Now I never liked the enV, and I would never purchase one. The keyboard may be better for my hands. But the Voyager is soooooo hot because of the huge screens and touchness. I cannot wait!!! And I love being made fun of…so make fun all you want…jealous haters.

Actually the Juke isn’t too bad. 2 megapixel camera, 2gb of internal memory, and a cool, stylish little swivel form. I’m actually considering it just to stray away from all the touchscreen phones hype and what not.
As much as I like the technology in the iPhones and new Verizon phones, I am sick of hearing the arguing and whining between iPhone owners and Verizon customers. Enjoy what you prefer, but don’t brag and diss any other similar product that comes out. SHUT THE HELL UP ALREADY!
