BlackBerry 9000 whispers in our ear

No, it doesn’t have the amount of hype and speculation an iPhone did before its release, but we don’t think there has even been this much anticipation for a BlackBerry, ever. The hidden-in-a-dark-secret-underground-lab BlackBerry 9xxx has sent out a couple distress calls to us, pleading to let people know it’s coming and what it should have in store for the incredibly faithful and addicted BlackBerry users. First off, 3G. It most certainly will have a 3G radio and we’re not talking about the European bands. (The actual 3G bands are not yet clear, but we can only assume North American 3G is a go.) Second, this isn’t your momma’s 3G, this is going to be HSDPA. Forget the Wi-Fi scam, this is real speed with simultaneous voice and data! That isn’t the best part, though…we’ve been told it will rock a 600MHz processor! Finally. We shouldn’t have those necessary and annoying lag times when performing basic tasks, and there should be a drastic reduction of the bottleneck for Internet speeds on the device. What we reported ages ago still seems to be spot on — RIM is actively looking at integrating a Backup/Restore function to facilitate transferring your entire backup to an on board memory card. We’re trying to lock down a solid release date at this point in time, but if we had to guess, we won’t see it this year. Most likely early ‘08. You’ve got our address, RIM. Shoot one over, OK?

I still if that phone comes wit a camera it fucking complete the question of the question of the matter is which service provider is gonna get this beautiful product

Pull out keyboard or touchscreen! Be still my aching heart! I’ve been looking for something that would allow me to write on the screen (screen character recognition software) and still provide BB functionality to include GPS functionality in a complete package! If this can do all that, then cound me WAY in! It’s about time that somebody decided to include the PDA crowd in the BB hemisphere!
Hey folks, it’s simple, if you want a pull out keyboard, then you want one of the other devices! So just go ahead and look at one of the other BB devices and go fish! In other words, THIS ONE’S OURS, SO BACK OFF! LOL ;0)

I really look forward for RIM to include GPS maps on the device like the Nokia N95 so consumers don’t have to pay their carriers to use GPS in order to see the maps. That sucks and is slow.

t-mobile are in fact Rim’s biggest customer - outsell all european carriers - so leastways in europe they will probably get it first.

Sorry all you ATT fans who pay way too much anyway! Information has it that TMO is in the process of going HSDPA as we speak. Maybe this could be the reason for the jump straight to HSDPA (3G next-generation) instead of HSPA(3G) first. They should be available about the same time? Maybe…coincidence??? Heck of a sales promotion I would think. Plus why compete in one company for a share of customers and the conflict of interest when you can have all the customers in one company to yourself.

look im fourten yrs old and im the user of a blackberry pearl but i do have a good standpoint on the issues.first of all since the iphone came out all companys are coming out with new touchscreen phones like:the voyager for verizon,or the htc-touch for sprint,or the motorola rokr e6 which is currently unlocked and doesnt have an official carrier, but wut im saying is that there is truly no competition between the iphone and the other touchscreen phones.they built up so much unneccesary hype for the iphone that once the other touchscreen cellular phones came out there was nothing else and people found out that the whole touchscreen craze wasnt as superb as they had hoped.for instance my frend kam has been telling me about the iphone since august of 06 and once his brother got it it wasnt all that it was cracked up to be.we are also forgetting the what has happened with past blackberrys when i got my pearl my mom got her curve and we are both very satisfied she was upgrading from the 8800 and she upgrADED TO THE 8800 FROM A 8707G SO AS YOU MAY KNOW BLACKBERRY NEVER UP GRADES FOR THE WORST EXCEPT FOR WHEN THE MADE THE 8800 IT WAS IN A FEW WAYS UNPLEASENT to some like me when i got stuck with it after my mother ditched it for her curve..im getting off topic anyway if this new up grade is for the better or for the worst i think that rim knows whut they are doing and i for one trust there judgement i have been around blackberrys for a long time and i have tried to branch out but i always end up back with a blackberry and i want to work with a blackberry for maybe the rest of my highschool through college days atleast….oh if you have a black berry pearl and you want to learn how to change the color of your pearl go to handango.com and search color ball or if you want a freebee go to http://www.x-berrysoft.com they have the x-color event which lets you turn the trackball to inform you if you have an alert or voicemail or sumthing any ways that is my two cents,,peace
sincerely,your man elie

Not all, but most of you characters are all screwed up. For those of you that have been talking about how great the touch-screen on the iPhone is; you probably haven’t tried it. I have, and it really does suck. If you wanna play games with a touch-screen and listen to music - then knock yourselves out. But if you want and need it for business and/or emails…fugettaboutit!!
So let’s vote for NO TOUCH_SCREEN:)

Wow, this article is really interesting, question, if you don’t care about email is there any other reasons to love a Blackberry?

Anyways, i believe that this is a concept. This is not real. I hear that from other sources that Blackberry will be coming with something that is very cool and unique. very similar to the virtue phone, but blackberry style

The speedy development is due to the fact that RIMM is licensing all hardware and touch screen technology patents directly from Apple.
As most of the touch screen technology is patented by Apple, the cooperation with Apple helps Research in Motion to bring new devices to the market much master than previously anticipated.
RIMM is adapting this successful strategy from MICROSOFT - selling 2.class technology at a premium to unsavy computer users (and those who prefer spending time with setting up their devices, contact support hotlines and fiddling with their products instead of using it for the purpose they’re sold to be used for).
RIMM, once again, drawing from close looks at Apple’s and Microsofts products, decided to make their own case design and interface because the original Apple designs are just to easy to use and to cool looking.
The new Phone will be available in second half of 2008 at between 799-999 USD.

Nice photoshopped picture of a Curve.
No way will this take hold in the enterprise world…have any of you actually tried typing a lengthy email on an iPhone before? Can’t type by feel, so have to focus on the device while typing and imagine the ergonimics freaks freaking out over this.
A touch-screen BB will never amount to anything more than a cool consumer device (that I will buy, btw)…they’ll need to keep the keypad to continue making inroads into the corporate world. JMHO.
