Sidekick LX OS Walkthrough

Ever wanted to peek deep inside the Sidekick LX’s OS? We compiled a couple screenshots to take you through most of it. Believe it or not, the shots we’re showing you actually look better on the device than they will here on your computer monitor (for the most part). We’ve got the Catalog, AIM, MSN, myFaves, Music Player, and much more after the jump!

Sorry if this has been brought up before, but is the text message limit still a whopping 100?

arthur and tee jay stole some of my questions..

Thank you for the walkthrough! If the price point for an upgrade was about 100-150, I would be so inclined to purchase this. I have the LRG sk3 so it’s going to take a more aggressive pricing strategy toward current owners to get me thinking about upgrading (I LOVE the green).

Is it possible to charge via USB? How’s the battery life? Are there any reception/call quality issues?

Can we get the look and feel for the web browser, please? And if possible, can you report on the functionality of Facebook mobile (if it supports pictures) and if any other WAP sites play nice with the LX?

Did I mention that Boy Genius is AWESOME?

Hi. Thanks for sharing those pictures.

I wanted to know how the SKLX’s browser displays websites. It it Opera-based and do they usually do upgrades every now and then to the latest browser version?

Text messaging limit is still 100, but it looks like you can also save 30 messages on your memory card? It does charge via miniUSB cable, and the browser more or less is the same, but maybe a little quicker…

Yeah hows the camera this time around? Are we still looking at Sk3 quality or is there an improvement to it?

As for the Txt messages the memory card you may be referring to is the sim card, as some phones especially the SK3 allowed users to save up to 30 txt messages to the sim card.

From an interface design standpoint, there is a lot of clutter here, and the font they’ve chosen is terrible. It’s so busy - can’t tell what’s menu and what’s graphic noise. I know it’s supposed to appeal to a younger set, but it should still be… good!

Feign, if you’re referring to screenshot 13, that’s for choosing to direct in-call sound through the phone’s earpiece, speaker, Bluetooth headset, etc.

Ah yes i just remembered that now seeing it…. I was really hoping for a “save as ringtone” option like they have for non t-mo Hiptops… that would have been icing on the cake.. but the new MMS option is enough to convince me to get the new SK
