$399 Sony Playstation 3 gets official
We’ve been hearing rumors of this for quite a while, but there’s nothing like a bit of confirmation, right? Recently leaked internal documents from Best Buy have revealed that the $399 Playstation 3 might indeed be a reality. It should sport a 40 GB hard drive, and come bundled with Spiderman 3 on Blu-ray, deading criticism that this low-end model would be shipping sans Blu-ray drive. It’s scheduled to be in-stock on the 28th of October, though there’s no official word on when we might expect this thing on store shelves. Thank God Sony has realized that no one wants to pony up $600 for a gaming system! Let’s hope this not only increases unit sales, but also serves to convince game developers that the Playstation 3 is worth sinking some R&D resources into.
MF! I spent 500 for mine and all I got was a system! And since you can upgrade the memory yourself that is not a bad deal at all…I WANT A $100 GIFT CARD!!!! LOL

Yeah at least when I had to be the “first” with 360 they had a pretty solid line up of games…only game worth my time on the PS3 is Ninga Gadien and that was a remake of an Xbox game…*Tee Jay keeps reminding himself he did for the Blu-Ray*

I like my PS3 (yes,everybody knows this) and it would be nice if we could get more people to buy one so everybody can stop being assholes and have pointless arguments on which is better just like the pointless arguments about Microsoft being better than apple or apple being better than Microsoft.

By now we know how people around the world love their xbox 360 or Wii.
I guess PS3 needs love, too….here, here we love you, PS3. All you need to do is drop your unreasonably high price tag. Ditch the blue-ray thingy and just be a gaming console, like the other consoles.

PS3’s can’t really ditch the blu-ray thingy since that is what they produce the games on and considering that they are 50 gb on one disc there’s no chance they’ll ditch ‘em because dvd’s can’t match up to a blu-ray disc’s quality, size, or cool factor.

You can upgrade the memory yourself huh? I might pony up that cheese now for one before Xmas. I just cannot stand the thought of buying anything with Gates name on it so I have skipped the scratch my X box.
