Namco loves Pac-Man

Namco, the arcade gaming powerhouse, has a massive presence here dedicated entirely to a single game: Pac-Man. Yeah, seriously. They are making a huge mobile Pac-Man push, demoing the game on a variety of low-end handsets from Sprint and T-Mobile. They’re also showing off the iPod version. The game is fine, but it’s an interesting move for the company, especially considering the technology they’re using to showcase the software. Low-end Sanyo handsets were everywhere, as was a Sidekick 2 and a 5th Gen iPod. Not exactly cutting edge. We love Pac-Man as much as the next blog, but come on Namco! You could have at least demoed the game on a Sidekick LX. Anyone looking to get their fix of mobile Pac-Man can hit the jump for a full rundown!

Ahh… glad to see this :)
Hope it’s on a new Sidekick without me paying for it.
    Pac-man is such a classic.

Tekken? Soul calibur? To advanced and fast paced for phones. Pac-man is simple and awesome.

    Simply awesome.

I don’t know, tekken and soul calibur have fixed backgrounds, seem like they could do it ok, got a buddy with a RAZR that has a call of duty game or something of that nature on it and it isn’t all so bad for a phone game.

Square Enix is actually making a new Kingdom Hearts game exclusively for mobile phones.

That’s a pretty awesome screen if you can still see the images through all that flash/bright-lighting abuse.
