No phones are sold locked at all. Period. Every single phone will work on any network (as long as they support the same protocal - like GSM). So both these giants have to learn to adapt to that model - and given the incentive of India's vast mobile potential and the money in it, I bet they will learn fast. Nobody in India will care two hoots about such tied down service because people change cell phones and services as freely as babies changing diapers. Maybe that will teach them how to open up a bit at home too. Time to relearn for them.
