HTC Juno is the T-Mobile Shadow? Full specs below!

We just got word that the rumored HTC Juno we leaked, might actually be offically named the T-Mobile Shadow. We think we got the full specifications nailed down as follows…The T-Mobile Shadow will run a 201MHz CPU, but the memory will clock in at 128MB of RAM and a 256MB ROM. The memory increase alone supposedly makes the Shadow incredibly speedy. In the camera department, we’ve got a 2 megapixel cam, and the device sports a beautiful QVGA screen, Bluetooth 2.0 and Wi-Fi. No word on if this will be a T-Mobile Hotspot@Home product, yet. The keyboard always looked like "SureType" to us, but supposedly HTC and T-Mobile are very careful about referring to it as such. Regardless, it does look to utilize the same concept with more than one letter per key on a 20-key slide out keyboard. Lastly, the T-Mobile Shadow will come in two colors, brown, and sage green. We were told to expect an announcement towards mid-October, followed by a late October release. Bring it on T-Mobile! We’re glad you guys are actually getting back into the phone business!

P.S. Our informant explained to us that "Kii" was found on the back of the battery cover. HTC Kii is the HTC Juno, which is the T-Mobile Shadow? The Juno might not be the HTC Phoebus after all…

Brown and green? I guess T-Mo doesn’t want to sell any of these.

Is SureType really that much better than T9?

It’s a nice phone. hotspot@home could use something like this to spice things up.

I’ve heard reports that if the processor is 201 mhz then it won’t be able to support a 3g connection, does that mean we’ll have to wait till the kaiser (hopefully) is released?

Very big surprise with the memory. Those are Kaiser settings. I thought it had a VGA screen though? And brown & green? Eh, I was gonna wait for the Kaiser anyway. Very nice phone still. I hope T-Mobile continues down this road.

I’m excited for the green Shadow! I have a green SK3, and quite honestly, I was waiting for a messaging-centric device to come out. I saw the LX and was very disappointed with the lack of WiFi. Now that the Shadow’s coming with WiFi and a green color scheme, I might consider! I’m not the biggest fan of SureType. If they do a stellar job with the keyboard though, I might consider. My only experience with SureType has been with the gummy, cramped keys on the Pearl. Here’s to hoping!!

I KNEW the name “Kii” sounded like it fit the Juno (er, Shadow)!

“Shadow” sounds like a much more marketable name than “Juno,” but it also sounds like it’s trying too hard. I vote for “Kii,” even if it is a ripoff of a certain gaming apparatus.

As someone who’s struggling between the desire for a small device and the desire for a full keyboard, SureType devices like the Blast and the Juno/Shadow/Kii sound like they could fit the bill.

I’m not sure why T-Mobile is going for brown devices all of a sudden (for a while it sounded like they wanted deep blue to be their new trademark color), but I’m looking forward to seeing it in green.

I saw them both and its not touchscreen and the brown actually looks black depending on the lighting. The green isn’t great but not as bad in person. Very user friendly and doesn’t have the standard today screen thats associated with HTC and Windows Mobile devices, its more of a phone interface instead of PDA

I will be waiting for this one.

Hi guys and gals, I am a tmobile PDA tech and I just got some up training on the Shadow. The phone is sweet, best WM I have seen but still WM LOL. The color sounds bad but it actually is really nice. The O.S. is really smooth and the scroller helps navigate pretty well. I like it better than the track ball of the Curve or Pearl. Sim card is in a weird spot, has a little pull door to remove it so if the door breaks the sim card is in the phone permanatly because it slides in flush. Didnt get to really play with many of the features because HTC only sent 5 phones so the class had to share the phones and some folks cant share, lol. The phone is balanced real nice for a slider and hope this post answer some questions for ya. Later

Someone mentioned the processor speed not being enough to support 3G. Since your a PDA tech, do you have any insight into this? Is this phone going to have 3G support? That’s going to be difference in whether I buy this phone or not. Thanks

I’m glad I got mine for free and its still sitting there unopened. Your in depth review is making me curious enough to find out how much it sucks that I might actually open it. Too bad I’m not a T-Mobile customer so my experience will probably be extremely limited…

It does have hot spot at home and also supports up to a 4gb microsd, has a 2.6 QVGA screen, has windows live search on it… It does come in brown in green but its more of a olive/silver green… And it is going to drop on Halloween (Oct. 31st)

tmobile was suppose to get the touch flo dual which is better then what sprint got because it has a kick out keyboard on top of all the other great features, and feel your pain because i was hoping for it too but they dropped the shadow instead

The colors are actually quite nice the sage green is very soft. Look for launch the 31st. Pricing is going to be in the $150 market with new acts or available upgrade (2 year of course). T9 and smart type, I’m not a fan of both. The HTC rep I talked to said there is a way to turn it off, like i have on my BB Pearl, but tried to really sell me on the T9 – NOT A FAN HERE! But I will tell you that I played with the phone the other day and it is H-O-T! Let’s just hope it performs better than the DASH

Let’s just say, now that I have read through ALL of the comments that this product was put out just in time for the holidays and you can look forward to seeing touch screen versions and hotspot at home versions though that hasn’t been complete verified.
