BlackBerry Pearl 2 (8130) launching Wednesday on Verizon Wireless?
It appears the BlackBerry Pearl 2 (8130) along with the Samsung U470, LG VX8800, and LG VX10000 will be joining Verizon Wireless’ lineup come Wednesday morning. The carrier has posted a teaser site, in which mouse movements shine light upon dark silhouettes of four upcoming devices. Did you really expect Sprint to out beat Verizon with the BlackBerry Pearl 2? Ah, never mind. They got the Palm Centro…
Thanks, Omie!
UPDATE: We just got word from one of our Verizon ninjas, and they’ve informed us that the BlackBerry Pearl 2 release date on Verizon is in November. This leads us to believe that the images will be revealed on the teaser site in 4 days, perhaps?

I just want to put my 2 cents in after reading all these comments. I called Verizon customer service this morning and they were clueless regarding the Pearl 2 you guy’s know as much about it as they do. Verizon arguably has the best service for the business traveler but as so many have stated they get their equipment 1 – 2 years after their competition and let’s face reality our US based services are 1 – 2 years behind the rest of the world so Verizon is way behind. If i didn’t travel for a living I would switch services tomorrow but I’m stuck..Also I contacted Verizon regarding their (new to them) international capabilities, the airtime rates are so high that it is much much less money just to rent a phone for overseas use, I get a phone for the UK that has all incoming call free, I can spend 10 days over there and have a bill of less than $60.00 at $3.00 a minute from Verizon I would be spending that a day.

Look at all these verizon haters. I have the verizon blackberry 8800 and I like the service and the phone, Verizon and sprint are the only two with the world edition and lets not mention our my account and services online. Like easy pay. T-Mobile, ATT, and Alltel are lame. I LOVE VERIZON!!!!!!!!!!!!

JamesP what are you talking about? I think everyone wants details on this phone!
I’m bummed that you MUST get a BB data plan. I sit at a computer all day I already have access to my e-mail and really have no need to check e-mail/surf 24-7.
Guess I’ll look at the LG Venus/Voyager

Ummm… price. Release date if it has changed from Nov1. Has verizon locked down the GPS again and forced it’s UI on the bugger? I think anyone still looking at this OLD would like to know about anything that’s not already been posted.

Interesting comments from a VZW government rep:
“The Blackberry Pearl will be released 11/8 but there is no pricing available until closer to the launch date. For government agencies and employees, we provide a significant discount off the price of all Blackberries when activated
with both Voice & Data services. (data service is $35.99 for unlimited per month on a blackberry). Alternatively, you can elect to go with a pay-as-you-go plan and pay more for the device.”
