New patent reveals Sony-Ericsson touchscreen slider
Luckily, most patents are designed to only protect the manufacturer of the concept in question…not the actual product pictured. And we are thankful for that. With all the cool phones out there and coming out, the atrocity above is hardly something anyone would salivate over. But, it does open up some options that haven’t been explored much, as evidenced by the hidden touchscreen slider in the example. It’s not the most revolutionary design we’ve ever seen, but it would add more functionality to an arguably exhausted slider concept, so we shake our fist in happiness at that.

While salivating isn’t what I would I do think it is a worth while concept specially when making most phones web happy.
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm…**drool drool**..so good….Oh wait that’s the skittles, sorry.
-Skittles, taste the rainbow-
That’s awesome! I always find sliders ridiculous for hiding away the keypad, which could get scratched without being too annoying, and leaving the screen exposed. Why has no one done this before??
