iPhone now supports MP3 and .wav attachments!

Thank lordy this happened. Anyone out there unhappy with the inability to play voicemail attachments, or even just audio attachments in general can thankfully chill. We’re not sure why this wasn’t mentioned in the release notes, because it’s a pretty big development for anyone who gets voicemail attachments in their email. Did any of you find anything else new?

My iPhone now serves as a great, though expensive paperweight. Sure glad I unlocked it.

Shamw whay did they wait. They could have released the so called “feature” at launch?

Oh wait thats right they would have no real way do justify the still overtly expenseive service plans an out ragous unit cost. Ironic isn’t it. They make you buy the phone at full retail an don’t give you the unlock code. Violated att poicy rict there. The brick phones that hav alredy been unlocked they wipout 3rd partuy apps they make you pay for songs twice if you want to use them as ringtones. Sorry crapple too little too late.

Yea I think it has since I really want some upgrade on the OS or a better (Tilt) upgrade to my Blackjack since I’m running a WM5 with nothing but 3G. So it has made me a little P.O.’ed at this but att will release the Kaiser soon.
Plus I did say that I wasn’t trying to bash the iPhone, it just came out that way. And c’mon you know that if your iPhone was iBricked then it would be a very espensive paper weight/mirror.

This was probably the number one reason I returned my ICrap after five days, although there were about 7-10 other deal-breakers. I thought it was so standard to play a wav file attachment I didn’t even think to inquire!!!

3 FEATURES that are absolutely unacceptable to not be on the iphone yet, after more than 3 months on the market.

    1. Copy and Paste!

    2. Forwarding TEXTS!

    3. Making an alternative REPLY-TO Address for email accounts

When these features get released, I will take my iphone off the shelf, and toss the blackberry curve.

i cant believe no one else is complaining about this???

When I can play internet radio, like sky.fm and others with out having to unlock it and fuck with the warranty issues and have GPS “FULLY FUNCTIONAL” than I mite give the iPhone a second look. Oops and fix the stinking email package so you dont have problems with GMAIL and other pop accts. Than again if GOOGLE would write there email app to work on the Iphone, I’d be one step closer. In the end, I’ll wait till next year when the new and improved version comes out and enjoy my 8820 for now.

All you people are complaining because Apple doesnt let you unlock it. BIG DEAL. Again I state that the fact is you KNEW AT&T was the carrier of the iPhone MONTHS before you bought it, AND its on the back of the BOX. Either change carriers and sign up for a contract or SHUT THE F**K UP. Seriously im sick and tired of you people whining like bitches. All this WASNT a suprise.

Apple also TOLD YOU days before the update and in the update window “WARNING IF YOU HAVE USED UNAUTHORIZED SOFTWARE LOCKS YOUR IPHONE WILL NOT FUNCTION. What do you want them to tattoo it to your friggin forehead…

WAV files will not play on my iphone after the latest update. I click on the voicemail attachment that Vonage emails me it opens up and says Could Not Play This Movie. Sucks. My old Treo 700 could not play those wav files either from the emails but it would play wavs that I loaded as ringtones.

This is actually quite embarrasing “my phone is better than your phone” playground stuff. If you bought an iphone and used the touch screen on the full internet, the built in fully functional web browser (albeit safari), used pinch to make things smaller and bigger. widescreen to portrait and coverflow. And the only thing you can say is but i cant MMS i think you are missing the point of iphone. Of course it has its limitations but it is a massive step in the right direction away from crap treos and nokias that are made for geeks. eventually all phones will be this easy to use and even though it may not be apple, we can thank them for raising the bar by daring to go in a new direction. Anything that gets rid of that generic crap windows ce nonsense makes me happy.

Take a look at http://www.vonagent.com - listen to your Vonage voicemails (it’s a native iPhone app for free). It handles/converts Vonage’s unreadable wavs. Enjoy!

I had soooo much trouble with my brand new iphone. I did the first sync with my laptop and it completely wiped out my email addresses from my outlook. Oh yes…I have them…in my phone! 249 email addresses removed from my laptop to my iphone. After contacting everyone at apple they finally told me it was not the iphone…it was my version of outlook professional 2003. They told me I had aversion older than 2 to 3 years. This means that my version used the file extension (.pst) the iphone only recognizes unicode file extentions. therefore it won’t play well with my “older” version of outlook! Now does anyone havs an idea of about how many people in the entire world use a version of outlook professional that is older than 2 to 3 years? I would guess about 90% of the people that use email on a daily basis use this exact version. Now let’s see help me with the math here. If this is even close to correct, then APPLE and IPhone just screwed all these people. But not openly…only after they have purchased this expensive “paperweight” we call a modern convienance the IPhone!
once we have it in our hoty little hands and we sync it to our business computers…welllah..no more email address to be had in your computer…then what?
Since I have had and used this IPhone…I realized it won’t do videos, or text messages, or, is not compatable with currently being used computer applications…etc, etc.
I would sacrifice the $400 plus the accessories expenses, just to have “Mr. Apple” standing in fornt of me while I stop the shit out of this so called mordern convienance while I video recorded it with my OLDER Razr phone…then put it all on youtube! It would be so worth the cost of the IPhone and accessories to do this!!
