Did your Gmail get hijacked?

While everyone has been focused on keeping hackers out of their personal computers through firewalls, virus scans, and other protective software, hackers have begun to turn their attention to your info stored on virtual web space. Floating around the ‘Net has been word that a particular critical process throws together a Gmail filter that goes virtually undetected if you don’t know to look for it. With this filter, certain types of e-mails, carrying potentially important personal info, will then be re-routed to a separate e-mail address for the hacker’s use. Scary, right? The good news is, the "in the meantime" solution while we wait for Google to diagnose and implement a fix is to check your Settings > Filters and delete any filter that doesn’t look like it belongs. eJay,

don’t kid yourself, all isp’s can be (and probably are) “all up in your email” the only way around this is you run your own email server. and even then, when you send it or recieve email it can be relayed to other servers between you and the recipient on the other end.

I hope info this comforts you.

Think of your email as open as a postcard.

I do wonder if there is anything like PGP for securing Gmail/BlackBerry BIS.
