perhaps they mean the device has the ability to address up to 32GB on a storage card, despite the fact that none have been released of that size yet? Do you buy all your computer equipment/tech gear with published “maximum” specs equal to today’s standards?
Generally speaking even if that were a valid argument any pda phone sold today or this year will not be in service to use a 32GB miniSD card when it shows up in how man years. Do you honestly expect that to be a valid argument as it relates to this phone?
You do realize 8GB cards are out, 16GB is coming soon (months away)…so you do the math. An current SDHC compliant phone could very well get usefullness out of a 32GB card during its life. They only said supports up to 32GB…because well…SDHC supports up to 32GB cards.
None of this matters if they never release the phone. Rumors seem to be anywhere from later this week to November 15. I am rapidly loosing interest.
I am at a loss as to how two major US companies (AT&T & Motorola) can screw this up in such a major fashion. It really looks bad and puts both companies in a bad light.
I certainly agree that memory card sizes do increase over time, but I have yet to read about or see the announcement showing the anything larger than 8GB miniSD (NOT THE SDHC) being sold.
As for AT&T and moto screwing this up, be careful some folks at HoFo think you are a whiner if complain all over the net. Well we have a right to bitch about this and its a free wold baby.
I am waiting to jump to AT&T and don’t want to move right before vacation so I am looking for the Q9 to come out sooner as in the next week and not later as in 2-3 weeks.
I chalk this up as wanting it more than the carriers want me to have it.
Oops, well it should be a microSD and not miniSD, but still if there is an 8GB microSD available or microSDHC available today I would love to know about it for my upcoming Q9 purchase. That is if the phone even ships.
AT&T is the culprit here! No two ways about it, Motorola has brought the Q9h device through the approval process with the FCC and it was cleared in July. The device itself was announced in February, when this thing finally gets out — its obsolete. We are already seeing the replacement for the Blackjack being floated around by Samsung.
Don’t hold your breath on an October release of the Q9 either, why would AT&T go through the motions of putting up a teaser website for the device, if they did not have problems with the release? They are trying to keep customers interest with vapor-ware, an old trick, but I don’t buy it! Once that site was up they lost me, I am tired of old technology, and 8 months in the world of smartphones is huge.
How embarrassing can it get AT&T?
Confirmed…
the Tilt(8925) is launching on Oct 5th…
Why is the 8525 more expensive than the 8925 no commitment pricing? kind of odd
So AT&T can get the job done on the Tilt but not the Q9, something is seriously screwed up at that company. Screw the HoFo folks who call this whining simply put, we are calling AT&T out on this. I’m waiting to port but the longer it gets the less interested I am.
I Got my 8925/Tilt just now
my friend i grew up with works at the nearest AT&T store, and called me today told me he got the shipment today. he wasn’t sure if he was suppose to sell it yet today, or Friday, but they didn’t tell him anything so he sold it to me. he hooked me up with a 2 year contract total with tax was 297.34, and i still get the 50 dollar mail in rebate. whats weird is the mail in rebate he gave me says 50 dollar but he said that they told him its suppose to be 100 dollar mail in rebate. my cousin got the sprint mogul and his came with a carrying case and a micro card. the 8925/tilt comes with neither =[. other than that the phone looks identical to the tytn II without the camera on the front. was it worth the wait? without a doubt! the phone is better than what i thought it was going to be. if you have questions about the phone let me know. good luck everyone
So how is the screen? Is it touch and if so is it a pressure sensitive screen or something more like capacitive touch, more like the iphone? Also, hows the weight? size compared to treo? fast processor?
its a touch screen with a qwerty. i dont believe it is pressure sensitive. it is thinner than the 8525. i believe it is the same size as my cousins sprint mogul; i ll find out this weekend when i see him. to me it feels like it is a heavy phone, but in my opinion heavy means quality. it is smaller than the treo atleast to me it seems smaller. i think the processor is the same as the 8525 but just more memory. i had the 8525 and the tilt/8925 feels more responsive; meaning it seems like it loads apps quicker.
Youre a faggot
