T-Mobile makes Sidekick LX, and Sidekick Slide official!
Not that we didn’t have our suspicions already, heck, we even knew the Sidekick LX would be coming in multiple colors, but whoa! The Sidekick Slide announcement came out of left field! You might remember the Sidekick Slide from our intimate hands-on session a little while back. Something we knew but couldn’t share, was that the Sidekick LX’s fantastic high-resolution LCD screen actually is a Sharp Aquos LCD. Nice! All around the Sidekick LX seems to be more polished, a tad bit thinner (we’re talking almost the exact same size as the Sidekick 3 here), but who are we kidding…the big thing for T-Mobile Sidekick users is finally the addition of MMS. Believe you me, people were revolting for it! We can expect the same great and easy to use OS that know and love on both the Sidekick Slide, and the Sidekick LX. A whole list of improvements, specs and other important info is after the jump, but to sum it up; both devices are quad-band, they both have 1.3 megapixel cameras (the LX has a flash), both have MMS/SMS/IM, web browser, and of course, the Sidekick t-mail address. The Sidekick LX will be available for current T-Mobile subscribers on October 17th, and for new users on October 24th for $299 with a 2-year agreement. To those of you wondering about prices and upgrading let me clarify a little. The sidekick lx is available to only T-mobile customers on the 17th, BUT it is only going to be available for upgrade at one of the 5 stores (Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, etc.). So unless you live in one of those areas you’re going to have to wait until the 24th when it is open for buying to anyone who got a reservation card. 25th anyone whether you have a reservation card or not can purchase one. Online upgrading has not been covered yet so I would assume that once the 17th rolls around you can upgrade online, but I’m not sure about taht one. I also heard a rumor though that if you have had your sidekick 3 for 11 months or more you quality for the 2 yr contract upgrade despite if your 2 years is up or not. Again, this is just a rumor I heard though.

I think the iPhone is better than this phone. My iphone has everything that this phone has and more. (aim , myspace, ipod, all that good stuff). But even so Imma get this phone just because its a trend haha
the sidekick slide is garbage … the whole point of the sidekick is to have the swivel screen … the lx is hot but the colors are wack and they added basically nuthing to it … regardless imma get the lx cuz imma sell my sk3 and i.d.

alright. i think that the sidekick LX would be 100% better if it was in black. or even if the blue was glossy. but why is everyone all upset about video? its like 25 cents every message anyway & it all adds up. i personally like the sidekick LX. but im not paying $299. The myspace app. should make it so you you could listen to myspace music. because then i would buy it.

I work for T Mobile yall This phone is too hot the browns kinda ugly but the blue is dark its cool. Crystal Clear screen, This phone is slim It has a more proffessional look, (CANT SPELL DONT CARE) Music player is low but this phone is worth everypenny. By the way THE CURVE is gay its the black berry pearl with a better camera and wifi waste of money the dash kills it for alot less. THATS IT L8er

i talked to representive today and she told me that sidekick is not comin out wit any new phones for awhile once the lx and slide drop..she said unless they hear from danger..so if u want to upgrade ur sidekick to baller status step ur g up and cop the lx…
I heard there is supposed to be a sidekick that support wifi at home from tmobile.
Just a rumor however, its supposed to be called a sidekickle(like tickle, not sidekickLE) but I could be wrong considering I got the post from another website forum.
The sidekick LX looks amazing. I don’t know about the brown, but from the pictures, the Blue one looks hot. I hope the keyboard doesn’t rip out because it looks like rubber. I have a friend with the SK2 whose keyboard is about to come off. I’m glad they kept the swivel screen for the LX, thats what makes a Sidekick a Sidekick. The Sidekick 4 by Motorola looks okay, but I don’t like the push-up screen with no swivel. Rebels will most likely get the Sidekick 4.
Although all the Sidekick haters are saying so much crap, the Sidekick doesn’t have this – the Sidekick doesn’t have that. Shut yo mouth. If you want all those technical features, be my guest. But take your comments else where. The Sidekick is known for its QWERTY keyboard and AIM, along with a web browser. That’s the main reason why I am getting a Sidekick to being with. I don’t need all those extra sh*t so I could show off to my nerdy friends; “Oh look! Check out my BlackBerry its not hot like my Sidekick LX, but it has Video!” Big whoop. Who cares about Video. If I want video, i’ll just use my digital camera – that’s what their made for.
