T-Mobile makes Sidekick LX, and Sidekick Slide official!
Not that we didn’t have our suspicions already, heck, we even knew the Sidekick LX would be coming in multiple colors, but whoa! The Sidekick Slide announcement came out of left field! You might remember the Sidekick Slide from our intimate hands-on session a little while back. Something we knew but couldn’t share, was that the Sidekick LX’s fantastic high-resolution LCD screen actually is a Sharp Aquos LCD. Nice! All around the Sidekick LX seems to be more polished, a tad bit thinner (we’re talking almost the exact same size as the Sidekick 3 here), but who are we kidding…the big thing for T-Mobile Sidekick users is finally the addition of MMS. Believe you me, people were revolting for it! We can expect the same great and easy to use OS that know and love on both the Sidekick Slide, and the Sidekick LX. A whole list of improvements, specs and other important info is after the jump, but to sum it up; both devices are quad-band, they both have 1.3 megapixel cameras (the LX has a flash), both have MMS/SMS/IM, web browser, and of course, the Sidekick t-mail address. The Sidekick LX will be available for current T-Mobile subscribers on October 17th, and for new users on October 24th for $299 with a 2-year agreement. T-Mobile Sidekick LX (Price $299 with a two-year contract): With a number of enhancements of its predecessors – requested by those that live, breath and love Sidekick – the Sidekick LX boasts a thin, clean profile design, a large WQVGA screen that incorporates high-definition Sharp Aquos LCD technology, a camera with flash, enhanced media capabilities and mood lights that light-up with definable alerts for various communication functions. I’m a lil upset with the colors of the lx….u guys can do better then that….being a girl I would walk around with niether!!!!!…. the slide is pretty hot but a sidekick isn’t a sidekick unless its by danger!!!!! I guess I’m stickin 2 my 3!!!

ive got my reservation card and felt so weird asking for one. i was like the first one for this particular store but at least they knew what i was talking about!!
lets just say that ive had an sk2 and i loved loved loved it but sadly i had to retire it because it was dying on me.
sk3–boooo i didnt like it.
so for me personally–gettting the skLX is the way to go because, ive damn sure waited long enough for an new sk that i like.
bottom line: skLX is probably more worth it for those who didn’t get an sk3.

I can’t believe that you all are judging the Sidekixk LX ALREADY even before they come out! I do agree on one thing, it definitely needs more features like video support but just remember it’s just a phone and cell phones weren’t designed for all that shit so just be happy. . . but yeah Danger is adding features VERY SLOWLY. . . and also yeah I know there are other phones like Ocean that has much more features but that’s how Danger and Sharp are. . .
its not the sidekick 4 so people with sidekick3 theres no reason 2 update i think its iight but its more for people who never had a sidekick or a sidekick 3 lolz and the new screen is much nicer then the 2 or 3 screen wich in fact will make the pictures look alot better lol

Really…can u really compare an iphone any blackberry and any sidekick…this isn’t a real upgrade…the sk4 will be a real upgrade…a real phone for that matter…I understand about the wi-fi and the gps…come on with youtube…do u really waste ur life away looking up vidoes…some are funny yeah, but come on…get an iphone for that you want wi-fi don’t look for the sk…just wait…its a lot of money for old features and if u want something sophisticated then get a blackberry…a sk is a phone…simply a phone…I’m waiting for htc to wow me or the sk4 on a 3g network with a real browser and os with flash and tabs

You know I seriously do not get it… T-mobile has always had some good idea’s… Lately they make no sense. I just got off the phone with Sidekick support, and can only hope they are WRONG… However bad news…. Myspace is 4.99 a month!!! What a lousy upgrade(if you want to call it one), they copy helio idea of a myspace device, and can’t even copy any more ideas from them like stupid video funtions??? Anything considered as cool on a sidekick now costs you, like the weather on the go, or auctioneer is a few bucks a month(each)! They manage to launch three sidekicks to spread some hype, all of the new devices are a complete dissappointment!!! I happen to feel the sidekicks upgrades of the past were all wonderful. However these past 3 devices(LX,ID,Slide) bring much dissappointment. Not that video is so important, however with this super quality screen whats the use? Apparently not to view the lousy shots of a camera which wasn’t updated that can’t zoom or take a decent picture. It shocks me Tmobile doesn’t listen to its consumers. They incorperated a mp3 player on a previous model, why not video??? Another thing why should we pay for myspace?? Sidekick was always known for its sidekick unlimited plan. Now they want to rape you each month with things they call upgrades for us, its a break of the sidekick stradegy, and will lose them much loyal customer base… I would rather switch to Helio, they not only go above and beyond specs, they price it equal to the competitors, and are stretigic in rolling out and keeping thier brand names, they do not charge for individual monthly applications, or backgrounds, its no cost to its consumer to customize it as your own. Tmobile charges you for every modification you make. If Tmobile wants to get greedy with us and charge ya with all the hidden fees and charge you for things like backgrounds that its competitors don’t, then the joke will be on them. I am an origional sidekick 1 to now 3 user. Tmobiles new way to get ya, is to say your phone has water damage on any manufactured defect exchange.
My sidekick would not charge, so I sent it in, and it had no water damage… They said it did and could have been as simple as AC temp changing.. If thats the case and they think we live in non temp changing enviroment, thier stupidity will cost everyone a 100 out of warranty fee as it did in my case, because they think we live in a non changing climate? There is no argument to them and you are not gonna win or get an ounce of sympathy, there is no argument, they have the device now, and tell you thier team of specialist detected water damage, and its pay the bill or go to collections, or breach an agreement for 200, nothing they will do to make it right, except make excuses and agree its wrong, but cannot help in anyway, At least sprint lets you bring it to a retail store for repair, to avoid dishonest companies like Tmobile who want to charge you for making an exchange…
My theory is this. To all sidekick fans, this once was the pristine of phones. Now Tmobile thinks our loyalty is based upon the past… They have been out done, and have allowed thier once great device to now manipulate its consumers into over spending for things that are not necessary to spend for. Got news for Tmobile. You’ve been outted, get with the program. If sidekick email is free and messaging so should myspace, after all myspace is a free service as it is!!
I hope the people that see all the cool things about a sidekick understand times are changing with the sidekick and that all future upgrades will probably be a monthly expense added to its already unreasonable and uncompetitive rate plans…

i think the lx and slide are cool but the prices are ridulous lol like id the price is gonna go down and they make another one lol.so i guess ima wait for the price.
well here is what i have to say about it….THATs right the sk3 should have a better camera and be able to record video’s what da fuck i was going to buy it but i said no cause it is a waste of money SERIOUSLY! i think that T mobile needs 2 step it up BIG TIME. this phone isnt gonna sell at all.

I never had a sidekick before because the colors were ugly. then they came out with the d wade that was cool i was saving money for that until i went on line to see if tmoble was coming out with another any time soon i think the sd lx is cool i like the fact that it is not going to be so big and fat compared the the 3. i am just a person that is tired of pressing the same key to get the right letter i want so the sidekick lx will be great for me. i can’t wait i already got my reservation card.
does anyone know if the sk3 will still be available after the lx comes out? i dont think there are enought improvements to make it $100 more. I need to know if i should get the lx or sk3!
