No, the phone doesn’t work with Verizon. Verizon is a CDMA provider, and this phone is a GSM device. It will work with T-mobile, however, in addition to AT&T here in the states.

Similarly, it won’t work with Alltel as your main (ie you get billed by them) service. While Alltel has some GSM resources, from what I gather they are for roaming purposes and not for their subscribers. The main Alltel network is still CDMA last I heard.

I’ve been reading reviews about the Nokia n95-3 and like what I read. My question is will it work okay with the Alltel network? I realize at least one feature will not but I can live with that.

According to Darla Mack, the difference between the two (N95 vs N95-3) in battery life is night and day. Not all of that is attributable to the extra 250mAH, in my opinion..but rather most likely due to power optimizations made in the phone’s software.

Technically, no U.S. carriers are “carrying” the N95-3 at the moment. It is being sold directly by Nokia (and soon other vendors) unlocked so you can use it with whatever GSM provider you choose. The rub is that, in the U.S., only AT&T uses the HSDPA frequencies that the N95-3 is set for. So, if you want 3G, you’ll have to use AT&T. The phone will work just fine on T-Mobile, but since T-mobile doesn’t use the same frequencies for 3G, that functionality will be missing when using this phone on that provider’s network. Hope that helps.

According to Darla Mack, the battery life on the 95-3 has dramatically improved from the prior versions. This actually makes me want it now (again). I hope the 8GB has these improvements as well.
