Samsung SGHi780 gets official
Remember that mystery Samsung handset we showed you a couple of days ago? Well, it looks like Samsung couldn’t keep a secret for too long, with official specs leaked by way of the Bluetooth Special Interest Group. The phone in question is the Samsung SGH-i780, a Windows Mobile 6 Professional handset that sports numerous upgrades over the lagging Blackjack that it is surely destined to replace. The phone sports a 2.55" 320 x 320 pixel touchscreen, UMTS/HSDPA connectivity, Bluetooth 2.0, Wi-Fi, and GPS. Other possible specs include a 3.2 megapixel camera, front facing VGA shooter, and a microSD card slot. Expect a European launch in the very near future, and hopefully a Blackjack 2 launch on AT&T before the end of the year.

A 2.55″ touchscreen? That’s tiny!
Why are smartphone screens going smaller while regular phone screens are going bigger? My Q has a 2.5″ screen and I don’t think its big enough, let alone for a touch device.
Pros: Finally an update to the Blackjack with Wi-Fi and GPS!
Cons: Same F***ed up qwerty keyboard layout.
I want one!!!!
My Blackjack is a little old and yea WM6 would make it better but hey that’s never gonna come out from att.
wow, a touch screen smartphone?! is the hp ipaq 900 touch screen too?
I’m holding out for the iPhone G2 but this device is definitely worth considering. Bummer about the camera. I hope it’s 3.2 and not 2.0 megapixels.
Bump up to quad band GSM (for our limited 3G coverage areas) and start selling those dudes over here!
when can we expect to see it in stores
