Sidekick LX gets official launch date of October 24th?
The much-awaited Sidekick LX is due to make its debut in a T-Mobile store near you on October, 24th. T-Mobz appears to be handing out pre-release vouchers for the Sidekick LX, which make it possible to redeem it on launch day. We’ve uncovered a couple more shots of the device itself, which reveal that oh-so-sweet high resolution display. The thinness factor looks to be improved significantly, and it looks like Danger hasn’t messed with sucess, and left the QWERTY keyboard alone which is great. We’ll reserve final judgement until we get a hands on with the device, but with an October 24th release date, we’re sure we can expect more details to roll in sooner than later. One more shot after the jump!
UPDATE: Doesn’t the above photo look like a dummy unit? We’re betting this isn’t a working device, but it looks good anyway.
UPDATE 2: Yeah, now this makes sense…The picture of the Sidekick LX above is just the other side of the voucher card. No real device, no dummy device, just a picture. Thanks, Daniel!

So, two similar devices, same carrier, launching in the same month? Was this thought over well? People seem to be much more enthusiastic about the LX, so where does this leave the MOTO SDKK?

Its either this or an iphone. Taking the plunge from an SK2 with its limited functionality. Works like a brick shit house though. Droped, smashed, still ticks like a clock.
This should be ineresting.

When the sidekick 3 came out the price was $300 with a two yr contract, $350 with a 1 yr, and $399 for prepaid. Im guessing the same goes for the sidekick lx.

Hibiki: We don’t know all the specs of the LX, or the pricing of either the LX or the Slide, so it seems a little to early to call them redundant. The LX seems to be the higher-end device - it has a larger, widescreen display, it looks more “professional,” and it actually seems thinner than the Slidekick.
T-Mobile is moving to a tiered, iPod-like Sidekick line, which makes sense, considering how popular they seem to be. That’s why none of the new Sidekicks are named “Sidekick 4.” The iD is the low-end model (hopefully it’ll soon be free!) and it seems like the Slide will be the mid-range, with the LX on top.

Oh man that box looks beautiful.
I’m really looking forward to this one.
If you look really closely on the card it looks like you’ll be able to pick them up at any store.
It says something like “return with this card to the store you got it from”
