Apple ramps up iPhone production
Someone is expecting an increase in sales…Following their recent price cut, Apple has predictably decided to increase their iPhone production output. Unnamed sources are reporting that Apple has decided to up their initial target from 1.54 million units to an as yet unidentified higher quote. This would make sense, as given the lower price point one could reasonably expect sales to go up accordingly. That said, it’s nice to know that Apple intends to meet the increased demand, as opposed to playing the somewhat aggravating "increased scarcity" game. Anyone up for an early holiday iPhone run?

BAH!!…it doesn’t matter because everybody is gonna hurl if we get another post on the iPhone. I think everybody who wanted one bought one already, now we just have the people like me where if att doesn’t supply that Tilt not only will there be a mass muder but we would just buy a Kaiser off the ‘net and then as a last resort, an iPhone.

It’s so disappointing to me that Verizon passed on the iPhone. With AT&T’s horrible horrible horrible coverage where I live, work, commute, and travel, no amount of iPhone production ramp-up or price drop will get me to switch, as much as I dearly and desperately want to. Sigh.
I would think that the recent annoucement about the sales in the UK and Germany would be a cause to increase production output wouldn’t you???
I once wanted the iPhone then it was released and I noticed it doesn’t do (for me at least) some of the things I need or expect. No exchange mail support, no real 3rd party apps, no tactile feel on the keyboard, but most importantly why would I pay AT&T more for a second phone on my plan that I would if I had a WinMobile Smartphone?. I would have used it for a weekend phone or travel phone but not with its current limitations.
Just because its an apple product doesn’t make it perfect period. The 3G phone will be here next year and I will consider that if changes are made. Just a side note I have been using WinMobile phones for over 8 years and have yet to experience the issues that others have.
