Sidekick Slide goes through the FCC paces
Remember the Sidekick Slide? Yeah, another BGR exclusive. Danger’s incremental Sidekick upgrade has hit the FCC, complete with device photos, user manual, specs, and more. This is the first Sidekick not manufactured by Sharp, and it’s also the first Sidekick to do away with the "swivel screen". Couple additions to the Sidekick Slide are a quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE radio, 1.3 megapixel camera, updated OS, and of course, the RAZR-like Motorola design. Launch date is currently not confirmed, but if you want to try and put pieces together, we’ve been told the Sidekick Slide might be seeing a mid-October T-Mobile UK launch. That would have to include a US release too, right? Check out some more shots after the jump.

“This is the first Sidekick not manufactured by Sharp” Wrong. Sidekick 2 was the first one made by Sharp.

Meh its a sidekick and they aren’t anywhere near the best but they beat almost everything else that isn’t a smartphone or pocket pc.

now here’s where I’m curious.. since it’s not made by Sharp, will it not have that horrible quality 1.3mp cam and a 1.3 that takes decent photos? the sidekicks up to now have had the WORST 1.3mp cameras I’ve ever seen. really makes NO sense why.

i’ve had a chance to play with one! T-mobile has demos running around, it’s a very solid device, a huge improvement over the sk3…which NO t-mo employee would ever rock. biggest complaint about sidekicks has always been reliability though, so we will see!

Like I said re: the Sidekick LX - if this is thinner than my Ocean, I might jump ship to T-Mobile. I LIKE the bubbly font and the purpleness. The LX does have that droolworthy WQVGA screen, though (can you believe it? A SideKick with a droolworthy screen?).
Does anyone have a profile shot of the new SideKicks?

When you say watered down. You mean my stereo bluetooth, 2mp camera, QVGA screens, navagation, reliable built, dedicated number keys, micro sdhc card slot, EVDO. If thats water down than your sidekick is drowning. And dont say anything about the UI cause that rant is old, come up with something else than that. Anyone whos owned a side kick (including me )knows they crap they break easy camera sucks and screen has low resoloution. This phone is what the origial sidekick shoulda been. Its behind time. While this phone is just catching up to the Env, the new EnV (LG vx10,000) will crush it. along with all the other phones.
