I especially like the enigmail extension which provides (almost) seamless gpg encryption and signatures. That said, I switched to outlook 2k3 for my main machine because Tbird doesn't have conduits to sync w/ a Blackberry or Windows Mobile device which is necessity for me. And to my knowledge there doesn't seem to be any work going on to achieve this. (someone feel free to correct me if I'm uninformed) Although not important to me, many people want MS exchange support but I don't see that materializing ever unless MS gets involved w/ the development, which they won't. What's really needed IMO, is an (GPL or) Open source Exchange replacement. and Tbird should be extended to work w/ that. Thunderbird is a great mail client. If they can produce a good client with even more addons, especially against spam/junk email, then I'm sure it could "grow up" into something which could end up on corporate machines worldwide.
