AT&T changing BlackBerry email addresses

Another day, another change. Living in the modern word is a bit trying sometimes. You get used to things like your email address, and then someone goes and pulls the rug out from under you. Where’s the humanity? To be fair, AT&T did this once before when they changed "attwireless.blackberry.net" to "mycingular.blackberry.net". During October and November AT&T will be changing their @mycingular.att.net addresses to @att.blackberry.net. This makes sense, given the company’s move towards brand unification. Current customers will retain the same names, i.e. bgr@mycingular.blackberry.net will simply change to bgr@att.blackberry.net. Mycingular.blackberry.net addresses will forward to the new addresses through March 1, 2008. We knew this was bound to happen, but does anyone feel just the least bit upset by the departure of the Orange Splat from you BlackBerry handheld? Nah, neither do we.

Thanks, to everyone that sent this in!

Why don’t you use a better email address? If I were your contact I’d be tired of sending emails to anything@mycingular.blackberry.net.

Because Blake…. And anyone can correct me if I’m wrong. The blackberry email service is all the same in that aspect from carrier to carrier. So if you didn’t specify like tmo.blackberry.net or att.blackberry.net we would all have blackberry email addresses like hotmail users…. blake234284433@blackberry.net. But I’m sure there is more parts then just that

Well, bberry you could use an e-mail address like Gmail or whatever you want that allows forwarding and have the e-mail address forward to your @mycingular.blackberry.net address. That way, you still have your push, but you have a better chance of keeping the original address the same as long as you want.

Just a thought. You know at this rate, AT&T will switch its name to Cingular again next year. lol.

I dumped my unused blackberry address from the BIS webpage and just use my gmail account. No worries.

I think it’s easier to type @att.blackberry.net than it is to type @mycingular.blackberry.net so I’m all for it.
