Maybe a BlackBerry Curve 8310 in Titanium or Red isn’t your thing. Maybe your dreaming about higher data speeds, Windows Mobile, a 3 megapixel camera, integrated GPS, and you want to have the option to put BlackBerry Connect on that sucka’! Your dreams should become a reality on September 25th, as AT&T is posied to launch the much-awaited AT&T 8525 replacement, the HTC Tilt 8925. If everything checks out, you just might be SlingBoxin’ it in no time!

Guy I just talked to at att store says he hasn’t gotten any word on a release date for the Tilt. So as far as I know it’s not coming out very soon.

I went in to the ATT store, and the guy told me that they dont here anything from HTC until a few days before the launch, but im so worried that they are going to kill the coolness that I am most likely going to get the unlocked.

The guys in the store know absolutely nothing and most of the time do not know ANYTHING about a product until the day it comes out. I was talking to a support guy today. I asked him if he could please check his email for the Tilt because they get something (support management) 30 days before released. Sure enough he has the Tilt information. He confirmed usually around 30 days, so it seems the 25th is within the ballpark of release according to him. Don’t go by sales floor reps … they are idiots for the most part.

Our at&t rep said that this will be launched without Blackberry Connect but Blackberry Connect will be available for it in first quarter 2008. Who knows if this is accurate or not, I just thought I would add the info for everyone.

I went to two separate AT&T stores a month ago and they acted like I had two heads when I mentioned this phone. Then a third store actually knew about it, but had no idea when it was coming out.

Hi all,
I went to one of the largest corporate stores in Upstate NY, and they rep their knew exactly what I was talking about. He said it should be out on the 25th, he even showed me the rebate form, which can be downloaded straight from ATTs website. He said HTC/ATT dont release information about their products until they hit the store. He himself is frustrated because they dont get to test it out before the public does, and then they are faced with question they dont have answers to.
So take it easy and go to your ATT corporate store on the 25th. Now there are some stores that may not have them until later on in the month, early October because of shipping, but check the website if the store closest to you doesnt have them

AT&T sales rep or AT&T support. I’m sorry either way. I don’t know if its because of a lack of training, or they just hire bottom of the barrel, but AT&T employees have a bad rep for being idiots.
Its probably not the same case for you though, since you will be one of the few employees “in the know” because you actually research these things on your own.

Look at the lighting. He did that review in the dark with a light shining on it. You can tell by all of the shadows behind it. Of course the colors will look darker than other videos where it was filmed in a well lit room. The picture on BGR looks like it may have been taking in the same conditions. Lighting is EVERYTHING when it comes to photos.

Anyone know the difference between the U.S version vs. European version. Also in addition to that request, anyone know the differences between the U.S unlocked version vs. ATT version.

It’s looking like the AT&T version won’t have a front camera. Both AT&T & HTC unlocked should have WM6 standard features, but it is unclear to me what the software differences will be, besides the obvious cosmetics and a few links pushing AT&T services. We’ll have to wait until the (hopeful) AT&T release on 09/25 .. a suitable release date for an 8′925′ .. and the subsequent reviews.

In need of knowledge, Im attending an event in oct to try out the phone it sucks to know so little about such a cool phone what advantages does HTC have over other PDAs where do the strong points kick in ? why? such a chubby looking phone, ? who uses it ?… why is it so practical

This is definitely not a solid date. I contacted an AT&T corporate office today and tried to find out any information but the representative said the there isn’t a set date yet but it will be within the next couple of weeks no more than 4 no later than the 23 of October.

screw at&t for not being more forthcoming to so many customers (and potential customers). i feel like buying an unlocked phone and using it on a different gsm network. i am sick and tired of seeing soooo many release dates: 9/3, 9/16, 9/25, 10/??? what’s going on? at&t should at least put out some kind of announcement.
