HP iPAQ 910c coming to AT&T?

AT&T is absolutely killing it with their new devices. Say what you will about their service, customer care, and network, but aboslutely no other carrier in the US can hold a candle to the frequency with which they rollout new handsets. Next on today’s block is the HP iPAQ 910c "Business Messenger." A glance at the product spec sheet reveals that model number FB070AA#ABA, i.e. the new camera-sporting iPAQ, is headed for….AT&T. This new handset marks HPs (hopefully) triumphant return to the mobile handset business, and sports a full QWERTY keyboard, tri-Band HSDPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, a 3 megapixel camera, and much much more. It even all runs atop Windows Mobile 6 Professional. No word on the release time frame or projected launch.

Thanks, Mark

Though I will not be purchasing any of the new AT&T phones (unlocked for me, thanks), I am VERY impressed with the rate they are announcing/releasing high-end devices. Kudos, AT&T!

Wow, hope it isn’t a complete brick. Competition for my Treo750! Spec-wise this is a winner!

    Your Welcome!

Anyway, this phone is like my Ubiquio 503g but smaller and has GPS, a mute button and is lighter at 146 grams.

I only pointed out it will be on AT&T but of course you can buy this phone unlocked too.

It sounds like the HP version of the Tilt without any quality to it. If it is, then who in the right mind would want this over the Tilt?

    SORRY…

Is AT&T releasing every phone available? Why can’t ANYONE else release phones people want to buy *cough*f-in verizon*cough*

AT&T is becoming the EMPIRE they are embracing the death star logo. Squash the competition…release all the technology and overwhelm us with the new, the shiny, the pretty, the technologically advanced and well designed…

    ah shit.

    I hate verizon…yeah I said it…WHAT???!!??

So I buy a phone one day and think it is the shizznit then two or even one day later something better comes along, then I look like a fool because this other phone is way better than the one I bought two or one day ago. Much respect for the continous outpouring of phones AT&T but I think I am getting dizzy seeing all these devices being popped out. Honestly its becoming silly, to be honest this is exactly why I left AT&T I would buy a phone I thought was the best out there and then something better would come along, it just got expensive trying to buy at retail because I thought I was becoming addicted to new phones. Hmm, makes me think is AT&T a glorified dealer for your wireless addictions, think about it phone junkies. Want to know what broke my addiction and don’t LOL but it was T-Mobile and their no 3G, same phones, great plans and customer service. I just hope they stay their boring way after 3G is introduced if not I will become junkie again.

Why would I want this instead of the Tilt?

    Easy.

One-handed phone operation with actual keys…touchscreen is nice and all, but to this day I’ve never used the dialer touchpad to make a phonecall with my Treo.

why is the talk time battery life so horrible?!?! It has a 1840 mAh battery yet it only get upto 3.1 hrs over UMTS? My Treo 750 with WM6 gets closer to 4 hrs over UMTS and it only has a 1200 mAh battery.

I understand that they have different procs and chipsets but with such a high capacity battery they should have pulled off at least 5 hrs over UMTS.

So, what would the difference be between the 910C and the 914C? Some sites are mentioning one, and some, the other.

I rather like it, if it had a touch screen id get it, but alas Palm has made me a touch addict. I was waffling on the kaiser, but then realised that when I type on my treo 650 I use both hands errr, thumbs, so so it is a kaiser for me. This is a nice phone though, and since it has all but the same specs as the kaiser its all down to, slide out keys with touch or palm-esk form factor with no touch.

Though the 910c does have a faster processor

The HP iPAQ 910c DOES have a touch screen.

Read the specs again – plus it runs Windows Mobile 6 Professional which means it has a touch screen.

Anytime you see “Mobile 6 Professional” it means the device has a touch screen.

Windows Mobile 6 Standard is non-touch screen.

    Dear Boy Genius,

On page 4 of that PDF we can find the following:

“HP iPAQ 910c Business Messenger – with camera

    FB050AA#ABA United States
    FB068AA#ABA United States – commercial
    FB070AA#ABA United States – AT&T”

Does this mean we can find it on AT&T (FB070AA) AND unlocked (FB068AA)… what about the FB050AA?

    I don’t get it.

This one and the TyTN II are the phones to beat… depending if you like the sliding kbd or the regular one… I’m still undecided.

    It’s all about customer “perception”…

AT&T has the best network, fewest dropped calls, etc., but you are led to believe that Verizon is better, becuase of “mind share” (they have a great advertising firm!)…other examples include those sprint commercials where they are “slapping” AT&T/Cingular around and touting their broadband speeds…well guess what, they are comparing their broadband network vs. our EDGE network…not their broadband vs. our broadband!

AT&T’s customer service (one call resolution) has made the biggest leaps of all competitors this past year, moving from virtually last to 2nd, behind T-Mo, but we aren’t in the “non-profit business”, so 2nd suits us just dandy, for now…

Seriously, is there even any question when it comes to who has to most robust set of services???

Jump on board now, or see you in a few years…either way, we’ll see you soon!
