AT&T snags Motorola Q9 Global on September 25th, too. Pantech Duo not far behind

Motorola’s Q9 Global has gone through more name changes than Perez Hilton’s haircolor, yet that’s not stopping it from making its grand entrance at an AT&T store near you on September 25th. We know the specs by now, quad-band GSM/EDGE, with UMTS/HSDPA (American bands only), Windows Mobile 6 Standard, and more. But what if you want something with a little more visual flair? Something clean and hip? Well fellow friends, do you remember the Pantech Duo? Yeah, the one we broke the story on, not twice, but three times. It’s dropping on October 9th. AT&T, we have a question? Why are you making is so hard right now on the other carriers? You got to let them come up for air sometime!

Does anyone know if the AT&T Q9 Global has an actual GPS receiver like I’ve seen on some spec sheets? Will it be navigation software usable (read: Tomtom Navigator or Route66)???

Oh, these dates are worthless untill the damned Q9 (or Global as AT&T calls it) officially comes out and is on on their website at least.
Hell - I have been waiting for the Q9 since Aug 24th - the day BGR repoerted as the official release date initially.

Well ship date at AT&T change faster than anything Paris wears. This date has been noted by actual stroe employees as well ( not that they can be trusted) but still its not much longer, it’s just a week away.

Well shiiiiit. If the DUO or Q9 comes out before the Tilt then I’m a have some device testin’ to do. Hey, only god knows when att is actually gonna drop some phones.
@The Boy Genius
Att takes so long to actually release their phones that anybody else could’ve come in and stolen the limelight already. It just seems that nobody else can release phones any faster. So we are still stuck in the age old question and praying every night about “when are ____, ______, ______, and _________ going to come out already?”

I think the valuable lesson learned here is that BG’s sources are usually 99% wrong. If you are waiting for a particular device, just wait until it is offically announced by the carrier and then you won’t be wetting your pants everytime BG posts a new launch date.

@ John
The problem is that at&t et al. Don’t announce anything and pretty much leave it to the internet to speculate. I’m still waiting for the WM6 update for the blackjack.

Me too but that’s never going to come out either.
The guy I just talked to at att said BB 8820 in probably a week. Pantech Duo maybe two weeks.

@John, sorry but I don’t recall you having any more solid intel that BGR does. Seriously tips come in and go out, and it generates buzz around the product and I for one do not fault BGR or any other quality site for posting it. AT&T could decide tomorrow to change the name again, delay it again or launch it early. Those are all things outside of BGR’s realm of control. No I don’t know anyone here, but I do enjoy the info offered and find it helpful. At least this site (and others) has kept me in the loop that is AT&T’s BS filled word.
That is my $.02

I doubt AT&T will release a WM6 update for the blackjack. The product is just to old (in the world of wireless).
That, and the Blackjack 2 due before christmas…

Most stores and AT&T phones sales have no idea.
One store where the sales guy checked his computer told me on Friday to expect it on Tues.
“But it’s AT&T, they like to work all the bugs out, so you never know”
I’m waiting for it, but not holding my breath.

There is actually no solid information to go with on the Q9 Global it is all rumor and speculation folks! The current available MIR on their website is already expired (9/15).
I find it amazing that a product that was announced by Motorola in February takes this long to get to market. It is a red tape world!

According to the latest rumor…..
From one store on Madison Ave and one in Jersey City
Oct 10th is the date on the AT&T books.
Good thing I did not hold my breath.
I hope it’s worth the hype.
