AT&T flubs BlackBerry 8820 launch, BlackBerry 8310 heads to AT&T on October 4th
If you’re like us, you resent the fact that the BlackBerry 8800-toting public still has built-in GPS while your BlackBerry Curve must make use on a Bluetooth-enabled GPS receiver. Well, screw that! We’ve confirmed that the BlackBerry Curve 8310 (GPS) will be heading to big Blue Orange on October 4th. Even more shocking? The color variations. T-Mobile isn’t the only kid on the block rockin’ colored BlackBerrys, because AT&T is getting a titanium, and red! The BlackBerry Curve 8310 will effectively replace the current BlackBerry Curve on AT&T. Good riddance, and hello GPS! In other news, the expected launch date for the BlackBerry 8820, as you can see above in our exclusively obtained internal road map, was September 13th. Oh well.
You have to remember that launch dates are not set in stone. They are estimates. Also, the iPhone logic seems weak. ATT wants to sell as many phones as they can. They aren’t trying to punish or change behavior of hardcore BB users.
it is amusing how many people are wrong about the launch of the 8820.. seeing as how now on the 19th it’s being released tomorrow. I don’t think anyone guessed that one.
even though it is a little ironic that it is launching the exact day my 2 year contract is up..

It looks like all the information abt rebates etc tht AT&T has on their website has been pulled out. Has the release been cancelled?

Release date for the 8310 at AT&T is set and confirmed for Oct the 4th online and in stores a week later if not 10 days the most. anyways i thought i let everyone know, my sons godmother who is a manager with AT&T just told me over the phone, now i can get some sleep i guess:D

Jen is unreliable white trash. Search in bbforums and you’ll see her underthe name boobybabymama… she makes stuff up then posts it and ruins the whole concept of using this forum to share information. Store managers never have been good sources of information. How many times have we been through this? The device is released and none of the stores have even heard it’s been released until 1-3 days after it’s been released, she’s worthless WT.

I just went on AT&T tech support chat and asked about the release if the 8310. According to “JODY_M” the TENTATIVE date is 10/11, and it’s possible that it could be pushed back.
Gah, I want it on the 4th!
Then post a document proving what you’re saying. The way you speak is very obvious that you’re total garbage.
In the BBForums.com you posted that your Amazon order got denied because your credit yet you volunteered that your credit was fine. Then you posted that you had to put down a deposit, all information that nobody wants or needs to know.
You also volunteer sporatic information that you have no way of know. You cite your source as “reliable” yet it’s been proven time and time again that retail employees (yeah, that means retail managers) are clueless about a new device until it show up in a box in their store. We go through this everytime. AT&T has THOUSANDS of stores nationally, many of their store managers and employees use this forum and are very big BB Fans. I know retail employees well enough to know if there are 20,000 employees that 500 at the least, won’t be able to keep their mouth shut. This is why when a carrier\manufacturer is in development of a new product the only people who know are product development’s management.
Go back to feeding your 7 babies mountain dew and doritos you WT.
Also, please refrain from talking about your fights with your “hubby” as nobody cares. If money is that tight that he’s going to get pissed that you’re spending $400 then maybe he’s right, maybe your priorities are out of whack.

No offense intended to anyones Godmothers Sisters Gardner’s 1/2 Cousins Probation Officer who went to High School with the Cleaning lady of the manager of a dumpy AT&T Retail store.
I was told by a sales rep at ATT’s Buisness Division Wednesday that the 8310 will be released on October 11th.
She has one on order to ship out that day to me.
I called them today and they said all it says is Coming Soon. No release date is their in the system.
Any news folks? BGR wass up? you said its going to be there on Oct 4th !?!?!?!
