Wow this phone is ridiculously annoying. Or maybe its the network. I would not recommend – I have to spend literally about twenty minutes waiting for a split second when the 3G turns into a G or E, then I can make calls and send texts. Everything else, I get rejected immediately even if I have full reception. What a bunch of bulls**t – this is completely unacceptable and moves beyond simply inconveniencing me – it’s actually f***ing up my life.

i have the pantech duo.
worst phone ever!!!
i hate it so much.
i have had it for about 5 months now.
&& its already broken.
ya kno how it slides up & down. well….ahah tht sprring is broken so wen i txt [not on the keyboard] it falls on my fingers!!
worst phone..
dont get it!

i paid like $300.00 for it.
becuase the 1st pantech duo i got was defective. & then they had to find a new one for me….once they did 2 months later. the camera didnt work.

Apparently no one has purchased this phone. I unfortunately did. One month after I received the phone which cost me $299.99, it locked up and erased my SIM card. I had to call and get a new one and I have to reset the battery every week because it locks up on me. The sound quality is horrible. The only good thing about the phone is the QWERTY keyboard.

hey all. i actually work for pantech, and have pretty much gone over all the posts. we will be soon coming out with a patch for all those who are having bluetooth problems, sorry for that. also, all accessories should be available for purchase on the AT&T website. if not, i found this cool website that seems to have all the accessories u could ask for on a Duo. “http://www.daydeal.com/home.php?cat=3061″ they even have headphones that’ll plug directly into the phone, rather than having to use the connector. sorry for all those who feel that the phone is cheap and whatnot. this was our first high-end phone that was made for the US. we got our foot in the door with the low end phones. but look out for new and improved phones to come out soon. we’ll still carry the lower end phones, but are definitely branching out to the high end market! and remember to always go into task manager and stop programs/applications when you’re not using them. this will help in conserving battery.

I’ve had this phone for just over two weeks now. Highly impressed with all the features. My previous phone was a Nextel i930 Smartphone with Windows Smartphone 2003. This phone is overall much smaller, lighter, and much, much smarter. Not one soul has mentioned the voice recognition ability. Press your Voice Record button and ask your phone for the time, date, battery status, etc. This is one slick phone! Not to mention AT&T’s service is much better than Nextel ever was……….

I love this phone except when using it for what I bought it for…Talking on it. I hear a slightly muffled conversation unless the other person is talking loudly and directly into their phone but at the other end they say they hear me fine. Thinking about returning it back in for a Blackberry.

Yeah this phone is great until you need to buy a part for it. My phone was stolen and recovered without a battery or back cover and no one (internet, At&t salesman, customer service) can tell me where to buy a new battery or battery cover. Its like the million dollar question…can anyone help?????????

I just ordered this phone 12-27-07 & it will be here 12-31-07. I currently have the first BlackJack & it works well. This is my second one because my first started to freeze on me so I got another one from warranty. But besides that this has been a really good phone. I wasn’t planning to get a new cell but I just happened to see this cell when I was looking for a cell for my girlfriend & I really liked this cell. I think that it is alot better than the iphone. Don’t get me wrong the iphone is a nice phone but i think that it cost too much & is really hyped up alot just like the other Apple stuff. This phone seems to have applications than the iphone. This phone seems great just minus the touch screen, which to me isn’t a great loss. I don’t like finger prints all over my screen anyway. I am the type of person that uses all the features which is more important than a touch screen. & on the iphone the touch screen is not under warranty. So if any thing else goes wrong on the iphone it is under warranty. Toooo BAD if your screen breaks or leaks. Well anyway I think the Pantech is a nice phone, nice big screen, nice features. I played with it for a little while in the AT&T store. But if anyone has one please let me know if there is anymore Pros or Cons (besides what I seen already on here) about the Pantech Duo. THe 8125 uses a standard mini usb connector. It work for lots of things. The Duo uses a proprietary conector that only works on the Duo. I hate addign more wires. Another reason I returned it.

Maybe you mom will like it. But from my experience I don’t think the phone was tested well.

*Bluetooth cuts off if there is any notification on the phone like new email, sms, alarm, or any ding, no more Bluetooth.

*No song name in the Media Player. They have artist twice!!! Hoe can this be?

*Battery life is no good. My mom never charges her phone. You only get a day out of this thing if you’re lucky.

*Keyboard is too small. Why does your mom need a keyboard? It adds a lot of bulk and the keys are tight. I don’t think my mom could type on this.

What do you think about the AT&T 3125? This is the most underrated phone ever. Bigger question is why do want Windows Mobile? Do you plan on using Exchange or Outlook to sync?

1. I’m not sure what you think I’m asking. I just wanted to know if any of the the bluetooth head sets had the same shape charger plug. I find chargers all over for my 8125 and I can used the same charger for my phone as for my earpiece. Hell the same charger works on my gps!

2. Are you saying she can’t use the pantech?

Connector is propriety so it’s only for the phone.

This phone is a little thick and the QWERTY buttons are quite small. Surely there must be a better choice for your mom.

I just bought this phone for my mom for xmas, and I want to get her a bluetooth ear piece. Does anyone know if there is an ear piece that uses the same charger? I need to keep it simple, if she sees too many cords she will run screaming from the room on xmas morning!

Try the Motorola H681 with this phone. It has worked well for me after going thru (2) jawbones that totally sucked!!
