New NBC pilots available for download at Amazon now
Remember the war between iTunes and Amazon for the NBC lineup this year? Not only did Amazon come out the winner, but it even comes with a twist. If you’ve watched NBC in the last 2 months, you’ve seen them whore out advertise four new pilots for this season: Bionic Woman, Chuck, Life, and Journeyman. Well, if you would like a sneak peek at them, you can actually download them via Amazon Unbox now, which is a full two weeks before they even air on TV. Watching them on a PC or media player might not be able to beat the HD experience on a regular TV, but if you’ve got an interest in any of them, getting them early (and for free) is never a bad thing. Chuck is awesome by the way…

I’m all pumped for Chuck and Life
I am downloading them now. I’m not liking the player at all though very cumbersome. and the portable device transfer, well i havent tried it yet, not sure i want to hook my ipod or anything up to this player.
Chuck better be awesome Greg…

Huh? I just went to the unbox site and it only said it plays on Windows and Tivo?
Am I missing something? Is there an easy way to get this content onto an iPod/iPhone?
@ InfoMofo:
Nope…that’s my bad. Got wrapped up in the battle between Apple and Amazon, and in this case, used the wrong example. It is windows Media only, and the article’s been fixed.
Thanks!
Damn you Greg! I already installed unbox before I realized it was not compatible with iPods.
Here’s a list of compatible media players: http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html?docId=1000038721
So Lame. Any word on if the DRM is compatible with the WMP for mac or FLIP4MAC?
You can also watch them on regular TV if you have OnDemand (Comcast) and probably others.
By the Way, Chuck ISN’T awesome.
It’s basically Jake 2.0, a really bad show that played on UPN a few years back.
InfoMoFo, no it has Amazon DRM. Have not tried to transfer to portable but both the portable format and regular are DRM locked.
Torrents of these are also available via your usual sources
TVShows.app for Mac
I “hear” thats a good one.
FWIW, assuming nothing has changed for Monday nights, the 3-hour block for Chuck-Heroes-Journeyman will be perhaps the single best 3-hour block in the history of modern network television drama. Chuck is light-hearted and will swing the same viewing crowd that made Heroes the breakout hit from last season (and perhaps one of the single most anticipated second seasons in the history of television). Journeyman is a modernized take on Quantum Leap, sans Al. I watched both Chuck and Journeyman a few months back, and I must say that I’m really looking forward to both – VERY excited (plus I have this HUGE crush on Moon Bloodgood …YUMMY!). With them bookending Heroes, I think both will carry the viewers they need to be VERY successful.
But then again, I was a huge fan of Studio 60 after watching the pilot a few months before it’s first season started, citing it as the next big thing in television drama and we see where it ended up…
