Natural disaster preparation gadgets are pretty big in Japan.
This is one of those products.
The majority of Japanese households have a bag they refer as Bousai-bukuro or earthquake bag.
Earthquake can damage the house and they might have to evacuate the house urgently. When that happens, they don’t have to dig through their stuff to pack but they can just grab the bag and leave the house. Content of the bag is usually drinking water for a day or two, light shelter blanket, dried ration for a day or two, and so on. This battery will be a good addition to the bag.

Hmm, I email this link to my GF who is Japanese and this is what she wrote back to me today.

i looked at it but they do not say anything about pee. it says only “charge by water” so, if you put only water, it will be charged and can be used forver if you will continue to water them up. so, about water, of course, you can use pee too, but i dont think that is the main issue that this batteries talks about. pee is one of the method. but again, on the package, i didnt see any word of “pee”. maybe on the back but not front.

so please dont let a lot of people Japanese are crazy.

crazy idea but for emergencies could be very good. Now they just need to work on a larger application, power your home on pee.

Actually, an emergency makes sense, since what usually happens in tense situations is that people lose control of their bladders…perfect for devices such as this.

The package comes with a dropper so you can just use a couple drops of urine, not *actually* pee on the batteries.

The lit says something about 3-5 charge cycle, then dispose in trash. Fairly convenient.

*Shrugs shoulders* Meh…wth, it’d be worth a shot!
