Widespread BlackBerry outage?
And we thought these things were a thing of the past….it seems that BlackBerry users on all networks are experiencing a complete data outage. First reported around 10:00 AM this morning EDT, the outage is apparently blocking all email and web access to ‘Berrys on all mobile networks. T-Mobile has, in fact, just confirmed the existence of a global BlackBerry BIS network outage, with no expected time frame for resolution. Thus far, we’ve only received reports from AT&T and T-Mobile users, but we have every reason to believe that Sprint and Verizon users are thusly effected as well. If the outage is as widespread as the initial reports seem to indicate, this could mark the second time in a year that the BlackBerry users have been subjected to such an event. It should be noted that it has not yet been confirmed if the problem is on the carrier side or RIM side of things, but given the cross-carrier nature of the problem, we’d wager a guess that it’s a RIM problem. Come on, RIM!

Seriously I stopped reading like half threw these posts, I think there was about a 10 minute max span between each post for the entire day, most were like a minute or two apart. You people REALLY are addicted.
After 8+ hours without email, TMO in Philly is back!
8830 Alltel Michigan. Last email was received at 8:39a EDT. Got a group of emails at 6:45p and nothing since.
I haven’t gotten email on the damn thing all day. T-mobile, Chicago

I don’t know that carriers and RIM understand how addictive this stuff is. BB Anon meetings?
BTW, TMo houston area, no push -email since about 09:00, but other data connection is fine
AT&T, Northern NJ, BIS. Sent several test emails from varying sources at 13:30 EDT. Still haven’t received them at 20:30 EDT. RIM should not claim resolution of their problem until they’ve delivered all of their messages.
Here in Aruba, mails just arrived 30 minutes ago. Mail has worked but not as supposes to.
Was working earlier in the day here in Clearwater, FL, but down now, and has been since about 2:00PM EST.
Down in Portland Oregon on Verizon. Went to Blackberry’s website and they don’t have the class to even mention this is going on.
Tmo BIS in KC has been hit or miss all day. A call to Tmo at 11:30 CT indicated it was a RIM problem and that was expected to be fixed sometime late this evening.
Emails have been coming in very SLOWLY since about 5PM CT.
And this is why I haven’t sprung to buy a BB yet, but I just bought 40 shares of BB stock!!
No emails since 8am PDT. Internet and texts only. AT&T has no idea when it will be fixed.
8800 – no email today, iphone filled in nicely. 2 major outages this year, not a good sign for the RIM management or shareholders. I guess more customers is more trouble than they expected.

This is why you stop being cheap and get BES, I’ve had no problems all day, but I never use the BIS portion.
Toronto had a power failure at 2:00 pm EST which lasted about one minute on Friday (Sept. 7). Was very, very windy at the time.
Have been able to send and receive e-mails all day.

t-mobile BIS in MI mine has been down since 3am yesterday i recieved a buch of emails at about noon today then that was it!
I’m on T-Mobile UK and all yesterday data was really slow. Woke up now and its 7.45am and data is still really slow now!! This still will never make me leave bb though, the time its taking me to send emails is the same speed it does to send on my MDA normally lol
