Widespread BlackBerry outage?

And we thought these things were a thing of the past….it seems that BlackBerry users on all networks are experiencing a complete data outage. First reported around 10:00 AM this morning EDT, the outage is apparently blocking all email and web access to ‘Berrys on all mobile networks. T-Mobile has, in fact, just confirmed the existence of a global BlackBerry BIS network outage, with no expected time frame for resolution. Thus far, we’ve only received reports from AT&T and T-Mobile users, but we have every reason to believe that Sprint and Verizon users are thusly effected as well. If the outage is as widespread as the initial reports seem to indicate, this could mark the second time in a year that the BlackBerry users have been subjected to such an event. It should be noted that it has not yet been confirmed if the problem is on the carrier side or RIM side of things, but given the cross-carrier nature of the problem, we’d wager a guess that it’s a RIM problem. Come on, RIM!

I have a friend in houston on BES that asked me to pull up his account because he kept receiving data connection refused on his bb 8800. I looked and everything was fine. He ripped the battery a couple of times to no avail. Finally, he called me an hour later and it was mysteriously working again.
My BIS has been fine all day as far as I know.

Verizon working fine for us.
Nothing here in Austin, TX with T-Mobile on BIS. Resent the service books and still no messages. I seem to able to send messages, but no incoming. Internet is working fine though…

For now, the only temporary solution I’ve found is to log into your providers bis page and click the ’service books’ button to have your email service books resent down and it will push down the emails you haven’t received since the outage started, but won’t fix being able to send/receive, just to push down that clog of emails you missed.
Its getting a little better. I get a burst of emails and then nothing!
I think this is a conspiracy by “boygenius” to get his site more published. Nah, but I did notice that a few search engines pointed to BGR for this issue so well done on jumping on this story early.

My problems seem to be email but not internet. Hence I have gmail client, still get most of them.

looks like its tmobile more than anyone else? VZW in LA, been up and about since 530a this morning, everythings clean and clear here, the browser was even a bit fast this morning
but yes, finally a feature from RIM that we dont have to pay for — spotty blackouts!
T-mobile BES in MPLS just fine, also using BES on nextel/t-mobile/verizon across USA and no issues so far
