Widespread BlackBerry outage?
And we thought these things were a thing of the past….it seems that BlackBerry users on all networks are experiencing a complete data outage. First reported around 10:00 AM this morning EDT, the outage is apparently blocking all email and web access to ‘Berrys on all mobile networks. T-Mobile has, in fact, just confirmed the existence of a global BlackBerry BIS network outage, with no expected time frame for resolution. Thus far, we’ve only received reports from AT&T and T-Mobile users, but we have every reason to believe that Sprint and Verizon users are thusly effected as well. If the outage is as widespread as the initial reports seem to indicate, this could mark the second time in a year that the BlackBerry users have been subjected to such an event. It should be noted that it has not yet been confirmed if the problem is on the carrier side or RIM side of things, but given the cross-carrier nature of the problem, we’d wager a guess that it’s a RIM problem. Come on, RIM!

it seems to be a regional issue with BIS email only. BES mail is fine.
I knew something was up.. not one email since 7a. Hurry and fix the prob….

Yes, I’m down on Verizon, although I was getting messages up to almost 10am PST (much later than reported above).

FYI, it seems like resending service books temporarily pushed a ton of missed emails through for me.

Email is very slow and I am unable to send any email on AT&T.

my girl at tmo says its strictly BIS… as she put it “BIS BLOWS”!!
The only thing not working on mine is getting email from my YahooMail account. BES email and browser are working fine.
Should be back up and running for everyone now.
Actually scratch that! It’s spotty deliver right now, so it’s not back to 100%.

On Rogers in Canada – both BIS and BES are working fine. I just sent a test email from BIS account to BES account – it went through immediately. I’m typing this from my bb Curve.
I am in Houston, TX on AT&T and mine has been working like a champion all day.
been on phone with sprint for two hours trying to get fixed. now rep tells me that berry server is down for sprint.
