USATODAY got a quick Q&A with the head honcho, El Jobso. What did he say? Can we all get a $200 credit even though we’re out of the 14 day return period? Can we at least get a free Apple sticker? Something? To summerize – no! This is basically it and we’re expecting Apple to have an official iPhone credit policy in place by today, so it looks like that’s the end of the road. Are you still fuming mad at the price drop? Or are you just mad you could get 2 4GB iPhones for the price of an 8GB just hours ago…Oh, ok.

"Q: What do you say to customers who just bought a new iPhone for $599? Sorry?

A: That’s technology. If they bought it this morning, they should go back to where they bought it and talk to them. If they bought it a month ago, well, that’s what happens in technology. "

    Good. Apple trusts in it’s product more than those dorks sporting the Apple stickers on the bumpers on their cars! Those guys were perfect advertisment for the last month, while we’ve all been green with envy… Everytime my friends sported their iphones, I wanted to rip their nuts off– but really I just wanted to be like them… Now Apple has done that for me and all the people like me CAN be like them! HA HA, you dorks all suck!

    that’s not good technology. Any tech that drops that fast is an inherent admission by the company that the device really isn’t that good.

    wrong, it was outselling all other pdas since release. The reason in my opinion is two fold: one to make room for a 16gb iphone coming after the holidays and to aggressively go after market-share while a few products are between releases. RIM and Palm are rehashing their existing products and wont have a new product for another 6 months. The opportunity was there and apple jumped on it. Also I’m sure like everything else the phones became cheaper to manufacture, same thing happens in the game console market.

    So true cavuto was right on whane he metion apple in his common sens bit a few months ago. Apple should stop primising to deliver when it can’t deliver in the first place. No if it was $399 for an 8 gig then el cult leader would have sold more units and met tha number hw swore to the powers that be known as shareholders. An it dosn’t give you eternal life or disapear you.

    he is right. Do you really think they were going to sell the iphone for $600 for a long time the price would have to drop and now that they reduced the price they just made it more easier for people to get the phone.

    I think this sucks. Name other products that dropped in price by 30% within 60 days of their release.

    This is a prime example of money-whoring on Apple’s part.

    The price of technology usually drops. He is 100 percent correct. I think anyone who frequents the site has an eye for the newest technology. And sometimes we overpay just to have the latest and greatest. Now other can afford to jump on the bandwagon. But now they don’t have the latest!

    His stores also offer a 14 day return and price match guarantee. All you have to do is bring in the receipt and they will refund you the differenc if you are still within your 14 days.

    I was so ready to convert to apple but forget about it now, I wouldn’t want to get stabbed in the back again. Jobs said that the iPhone has been extremely well accepted and customers love the phone and wants to put the pedal to the metal. But did this arrogant baster just forget that the reason it’s been well accepted is b/c of the early adaptors who were willing to pay the premium $$’s and help bust the iPhone demand. If it wasn’t for us early adaptors the phone wouldn’t be as popular as it is. So in return we get screwed with a 33% price drop ($3 per day average depreciation).

    I think it has to do with the google phone possibly becoming a reality soon. If that device was to come in at a price point much lower than the iPhone then Apple would see competition from a company that was willing to innovate even if it had to buy its own wireless spectrum to do it.

    This has to do with almost anything. In the beginning most everything is more expensive. It’s supply and demand, there was one hell of a demand for the first few weeks.

    Now there is still a large demand, but the supply is higher than it was two months ago.

    Case closed, people need to get over it.

    Well I was one who waited in line at the Store for the iphone.. and let me tell you this will never happen again. Its a slap in the face for anyone who bought it when the phone first came out. I cant wait to see apple roll out another new phone for 600 bucks again and see who is going to be stupid enough to buy it when we know the price will come down in 2 months. BTW i was going to go buy a i mac yesterday, but not now im sure the price will come down on them too!

    aww, poor you. Its business, they can do what they need to do to make more money and to sell more devices. Companies do this everyday, Apple has no track record of it but that doesn’t mean they won’t do it if they feel it benefits them. They will sell more units at this price and if they can afford to reduce the margin then more power to them. Its called entering anew market and aggressively taking on the competition.

    Dont get me wrong it sucks that you lost $200 but thats life move on, you dont see masses of people complaining when a car company changes a design or computer companies come out with a new model, its life and technology.

    Estimates were he was already making minimally $200 profit per unit, so this just puts it back to what the price should have been.

    Early adoption always sucks, and buying into Job’s reality-bubble sucks even more.

    If you worshipers haven’t figured it out by now, then you deserve the bend-over even more.

    lol truth be told, im surprised you guys are just complaining about the phone price!!! your plan is like rape without vaseline!! Bravo to apple for charging people who have impulsive buying problems, are spoiled, are impatient and don’t do research! Lol now that’s more than iphone, that’s hard lesson learned!!
