LG’s VX8800 and LG VX10000 live shots!
Are you an LG fan with a chip on your shoulder? Brush it off, cause we’ve got some brand new LG shots to make your day. First up is the LG VX10000, which you might remember from a little while back. This device is set to replace the current LG enV as the Verizon messaging phone of the moment. The enV is a pretty slick device, but from these shots it’s clear that the VX10000 is trying to blow the enV out of the water. It looks like a sort of hybrid between the enV and the Prada phone. Not a bad pedigree if you ask us.We just have a major issue with Verizon’s UI. The screens are gorgeous, with both vertical and landscape displays. The keyboard also looks pretty good, with appropriate spacing between each key, and what appears to be ample space in between buttons. Next up is the VX8800, which is an update to the VX8550. Specs are unknown at this point, but one thing is clear: this is a clean looking handset. It sports a touchscreen interface in addition to the slide out number pad, giving it a leg up when compared to similar fashion-oriented sliders from companies like Nokia and Samsung. Do I have it right that AT&T has data plans for the iPhone as low as $20 per month, while Verizon’s minimums are much higher???

#1: the Prade was out in europe way before the iPhone..so the iPhone is a knockoff of the Prada..trust me i own the Prada..my dad owns a iPhone..i have used both
#2 unlike the iPhone the 10000 will be full HTML internet
#3: the full qwerty keypad was made because the complaint from most iPhone users is that it takes time to text..but the 10000 allows you to touchscreen text if you like
#5 the 10k has a full video recorder that will allow you to film videos
#6 the 10k can transfer phonebooks..the iPhone takes time to do so
#7 INSURANCE..with the iPhone you cant get insurance..just a warranty that only covers certain issues..VZW offers insurance on the phone until the contract ends and have in-store techs that can swap out your phone within the hour and can perform software updates in the store..FREE!
The iPhone is a good phone with a few kinks..bt thats normal with new technology…but most of the features of the iPhone were taken from the Prada..like isaid i do own a Prada and my dad has an iPhone. LG puts out some of the best phones and are worth their weight in gold. The 10k does the same functions as the iPhone but is lighter..
As for data plans they start off at 59.99 for 450(includes unlimited text)
Im not knocking the iPhone..but just know that before the iPhone there was the Prada..this phone is more affordable and more sensible

Talked to a buddy at Verizon today. Phone is set to be released this month. Could be as soon as the 3rd or as late as the 30th. But he said it will be this month. Touchpad is nice, but I’m so happy that LG decided to keep the keyboard for the avid txter. Makes it to where the phone is very multifunctional. The 10k is going to be the talk of the holiday season. iPhone who?!?!

I am with a different wireless carrier now and considering going to verizon. A vrzn big wig said the Lg vx 8800 (venus) will be out at the end of Oct. 07 and the Lg vx 10k (voyager) at the end of Nov. 07.
I’ve read alot of bad comments about verizon, should I switch over??

If you want to argue that fact then ask a music producer, movie editor, graphic designer, 3d video platform designer, or anyone else who has a career that utilizes computers, why they ALL use macs.

Yes verizon is more then worth it. They also seem to be amongst the cheapest of carriers these days. They have the most unlimited packages, and best minute packages.
The reception is excellent; from elevator shafts to basements to the adirondacks, you’ll always get at LEAST 3 bars.
Their customer service is usually responsive and efficient, but sometimes lax, depending on who you are dealing with. If you tack on phone insurance, your phone is covered from all non water related damage, and if you have a persistent problem with your phone within 1 month they will give you a free upgrade.
Although they have some of the most unexciting phones (which from the looks of these, that may change), it is defenitely worth the switch.
The only downside is they rape you for data plans, and if you need a completely new phone (cracked screen etc) they give you a refurbished one rather then brand new. So try not to break your phone for at least a year. They’ll try to tell you its also “overstock” but thats a bunch of BS.

The voyager seems tempting especially with my contract running out in December. However, I’m wary of sticking around only to find out that this phone either won’t have wifi capabilities, or that it does but at a cost. Seriously, vzw charges for absolutely everything. Those ridiculous data charges are especially disconcerting.

I am getting this phone cause it rocks. Which already seems way better then the iphone due 2 customer services and the battery and personally i like the look of it more then the iphone thats just me. And iphone wasn’t the first touch screen end of story.

Where to start..
First off the ATT network is really not all that good, I have used everyone under the sun at this point and know the ins and out of all companys. The iPhone has its pros and cons. The LG will too. They have some things in common but do not do the same things. This was apples first phone, of course its gonna have issues.
As far as LG being “crap”, years ago yes, they made shitty phones, but let me tell you with VZW they make better phones then MOTO!!
Regarding Batteries and Insurance;
Yes you will be able to replace the battery and get insurance on the LG.. iPhone, your SOL!
Lets wait and see all the VX10,000 can do..

I upgraded to a LG 8700 a few days ago, and then heard about the LG 10000 as well as the Blackberry Pearl and the Samsung i760. I decided to return the 8700. When I did, I was informed at the Verizon store that the LG 10000 would be available on the web on 11/18, and about a month later in the stores.
I’ve had service with every carrier, and the last one I would go back to is ATT. No phone, including the iphone would ever make me switch from Verizon. When it comes down to it, it’s all about how the calls go through–regardless of the device.

Well your an average idiot huh? LG pull the spot light from Apple? LG designed and built the very overrated iPhone. Its called the LG Prada. Apple took the design and stripped away some of the features and capabilities and put their horrible restrictions on it and called it the iPhone. The apple iPod IS the worst music player you can buy, next to the Zune, and the iPhone has the same shitty restrictions. And I have 4 Macbooks and a G4 so I’m not a Mac hatter but lover. but the iPod and iPhone suck and one is a knock off of an LG breakthrough!!

How the hell does the iPhone not suck ass? As a device it’s beautiful (I have one in my hand by the way) but as a phone, it’s a piece of shit. Fing volume is low as hell, I can’t hear it ring and quality of sound is horrible.
It IS called an iPHONE so make the phone part work. If they did the above, I FOR one would love it. I like it a lot but can’t hear it ring (getting old) I hate the iTunes bullshit but can live with it but no way to get a REAL ringtone on it. I had a buddy of mine try on his hacked iphone but nothing.
Sounds like crap but works beautifully on my Hands Free in the car.
You are right about being able to bring a phone into a verizon store and getting it replaced. Works for me at least (I’m also with verizon, just trying the iphone).
For me the VX9800 worked great EXCEPT they crippled it with tiny text and a screen EMPTY as hell with itty bitty text in the middle and only a speaker on the inside so I couldn’t hear it. Bluetooth was shit too.
I will wait for the second iphone to see if they figure this out. It’s not fukken rocket science you know. EVERYONE makes a better phone than apple. Could they not just have bought the guts and tossed it in
As for iphone being first, bullshit. They were first to make it look and do what it does and it does it beautifully for most part. The browser amazes me at how well it works..
