LG’s VX8800 and LG VX10000 live shots!

Are you an LG fan with a chip on your shoulder? Brush it off, cause we’ve got some brand new LG shots to make your day. First up is the LG VX10000, which you might remember from a little while back. This device is set to replace the current LG enV as the Verizon messaging phone of the moment. The enV is a pretty slick device, but from these shots it’s clear that the VX10000 is trying to blow the enV out of the water. It looks like a sort of hybrid between the enV and the Prada phone. Not a bad pedigree if you ask us.We just have a major issue with Verizon’s UI. The screens are gorgeous, with both vertical and landscape displays. The keyboard also looks pretty good, with appropriate spacing between each key, and what appears to be ample space in between buttons. Next up is the VX8800, which is an update to the VX8550. Specs are unknown at this point, but one thing is clear: this is a clean looking handset. It sports a touchscreen interface in addition to the slide out number pad, giving it a leg up when compared to similar fashion-oriented sliders from companies like Nokia and Samsung. Pics of the VX8800 and VX10000 after the jump. Enjoy!

I don’t know, I’d feel weird carrying this around because everyone would initially ask “OMG is that an iPhone?!” and then you tell them “Umm, no.. It’s an LG” and they would look at you with disappointment and pity because you got a ‘fake wannabe’ model.

I’d be more excited if it weren’t for the fact that every handset that comes out on VZN is virtually the same device.

I think its ingenius that they are onboard for joining in the ‘touch screen era’ while it’s still hot, but realizing heavy texters still want a keyboard. the slick outter finish & form factor, with what seems to be full navigation outer options, does not force the user to open up to the keyboard unless its to type out a message and gives the user the best of both worlds without leaning too heavy on either keyboard or touchscreen.

LG & Verizon is looking real crispy right now. I think this phone will be a hit.

You can put a pretty pink dress on a pig, but underneath it’s still a pig. As long as Verizon insists on bastardizing the phones they carry with that ugly, clumsy, slow, crippled, and non-customizable user-interface, any phone they carry will be just that: a pig.

Wow here is a phone that should make HTC nervous. Dam this thing has such potential. Great form factor, touch screen, slide out number pad and qwerty kbd. Sweet. Verizon’s crappy BREW os blahhh…

When are they going to realize that their customers want more and its not all about the sales/service people only having know one OS on all their phones. Lame!!!

For what its worth, these phones will feature a new Flash-based UI that is both prettier and much more responsive. And didn’t I tell you to wait for pics of the front screen? :)

There’s nothing like the REAL thing baby…..

LG is the hyundai of the wireless device world. Nothing but a poor copy of the original.

Glad Apple and the iPhone has pushed and forced the industry forward.

Not for nothing, it’s apparent verizon is trying to steal some thunder away from apple and at&t with this. I am sure that it will appeal to some people, specifically vzw/LG die hards but once again vzw is already trying to profit off of something another company(ies) started. I don’t think this is going to take off like everyone thinks. Everyone would rather wait for the iphone 2.0.

LG puts out some of the hottest handsets on the market. And they’re almost always given two thumbs up by every consumer report on the planet. Don’t let your personal opinions make you look like a jackass.

Well, it’s not worth very much. What you’re talking about is similar to what they did with the LG VX8700. They added an (arguably) prettier skin that’s Flash-based but still just covers up Verizon’s hacked UI. You can’t customize menus or home keys because they all take you to Get-it-now and other pay-for features, they remove the ability to shortcut to YOUR favorite apps, and they also remove features that would be standard and included on the exact same phone on another carrier. Just a different dress, same pig.

If you would know better, you would know the LG Prada which this phone is based on was out way before the Iphone was in Europe and in fact LG almost sued Apple over it.

What are you talking about?? Verizon now uses Flash UI and no longer completely cripples phones. The only thing crippled now is mp3s over bluetooth but everything else on OBEX works.

    JunkNugget says:

Why does everyone keep bringing up the iPhone and that LG is copying it? You all realize that LG announced AND launched the Prada before the iPhone came out? And do not forget that most PDA devices before the iPhone HAD touch screens. Just because the iPhone had more hype, does not mean it’s a leader in technology, when in fact it’s old technology!

“I’m going to wait for the iPhone 2.0″ Why? Because this current one sucks ass? It’s 2G, you can’t change the battery on it, and it’s $600? You can’t IM on it (well not yet because the software isn’t there yet), and so on! Why would you pay so much for something that a $90 phone can do so much more then? I know, cuz you fell for the hype!

The VX10000 has MediaFlo, which means LIVE tv. Expandable memory, a full keyboard that will be easy to text on, it’s 3G AND you can change the battery too! Plus it’ll cost a hell of a lot less. And I’m also guessing you won’t have to get special rate plans for it.

I’m no LG fan boy, but I honestly feel that those who wasted $600 on an iPhone are pretty stupid and fell for the hype. Makes you wonder why you can already by “reconditioned” iPhones a month after it launched. It makes me wonder.

wow, you guys all just got spanked by JunkNugget. My only issue is how long will it take verizon to release these two beauts. I’ve been waiting forever for the 6800 and the i760 and still no official word on when we will see those out.

Let’s not forget the replacement issue for the iPhones… 2-3 weeks… and only apple can do that warranty. How many apple stores do you have in your home town? Now home many cell carrier stores? You can swap out your phone in an hour w/ VZW at most locations for manufacturing issues. Not w/the iPhone, plus the fact that VZW said no way to mr. jobs when they came banging at the door. AT&T/suckular just whored themselves out w/out taking into consideration there customers. It is a touch screen… so what. We all know that they have yet to develop a reliable touch screen.

Are you nuts or just plain stupid? How you can say, “The iPhone sucks ass” and not shoot yourself in the foot is crime. There is much more to love about the iPhone than any of these wannabees out there. This LG phone is plain and simply crap when compared to the iPhone. It’s not even close. Pulease!!! Today Apple dropped the price of the iPhone to $399. Now, whatcha got? I am an iPhone owner and I would have paid more for it. This phone is not a redo it changes the playing field and gives you more than just mere functionality and features. It gives satisfaction like no other device. Sure others have more features, but it doesn’t add up to the iPhone experience. And you have to realize that Apple is responsive to customers and that all those missing features will be added down the road. They’ve just announced iTunes downloads and added ringtones. And not matter how it’s imitated no other phone has the Mac OS. This phone has been well received with a 92% satisfaction customer rating. That says a lot. It delivered on its promise. I’m still laughing at the LG. Save yourself the hassle and get an iPhone. You won’t be disappointed. And most of all stop talking trash…
