Apple iPhone 8GB now only $399!
Wow, guys! They are sure going to get a ton of sales with this move. Effective immediately, Apple’s iPhone in the 8GB variation will be just $399. That’s $200 less than the $599 price it sold at just a couple seconds ago. What is unclear, is if the 4GB model will be discontinued…after all, no one bought them. Anyone picking up an iPhone now that it is just $399?
UPDATE: 4GB iPhones are going for $299 "while supplies last." If you bought one within 14 days and wish to take advantage of the adjusted discounted pricing, you will be charged a 10% restocking fee, we’ve been told. To put this in perspective, an 8GB iPhone bought at $599, will yield $141 in savings after the adjusted price and restocking fee. The 4GB will give you $151 back.
just got confirmation… 4GB models are while supplies last… and they’re going for 299 at all apple and att corp stores.

haha, agreed.
Lower the price to keep the sales figures high for another sales quarter as the ‘top selling smart phone’ and grab up more of the market share, seeing what kept a lot of people from purchasing was the price.
I’m a hardcore BB user, but you gotta respect how Apple is maneuvering like they’ve been in the phone game for years.
They need to do a 3G iPhone with 16GB storage for 499, that would be might nice.
The only reason I didn’t wait was because everyone kept saying that Apple doesn’t lower prices. This only happens once before we all catch on. Next time, I can wait.
In the mean time…..oh well. It’s just money. You can’t take it with you when you die.

Oh man did anyone not see this coming. I mean wow, I sure hope the people that bought it feel good about everything. I can only hope that anyone that stood in line for so long some how get that piece of their life back in itunes gift cards, LOL. I really do feel bad for them….. With this price drop the iPhone isn’t the devil phone anymore but it sure as hell isn’t the jesus phone. But to me $100 less and I would be sold, but now it raises the question,

You got to admit that they had good points. Most the people that bought early are the Apple faithful. The ones who have carried them through all these years of taking the back seat to Microsoft. Now they come out and make them all feel like complete idiots for the loyal support over the years.
Way to stick it to them Apple. I’m just suprised more news stories are popping up about this yet.

True dat but I’m still just alittle skeptical of how much the iPhone is actually worth 399 since the Kaiser will (once it arrives) have 3G, a stationary keyboard, and (yes I’m gonna say it) WinMo 6 Pro. but my BlackJack will have that soon (hopefully) I just have to go and really mess w/ an iPhone if I am starting to consider it.
And a 3mp camera that most reviewers like over the iPhones 2mp cam. (not bashing)
I called my local Apple Store and was told that they have a 14-day return or price match gaurentee and will offer the credit with a receipt noting the date of purchase. NICE!!!

Alex, thats the third person i have seen do that so i guess Apple Store and ATT stores are accommodating when it comes to the credit.
How about all those people selling 600-700 iphones on ebay? thats sucks but its the chance you take, early adopters always run that risk like the people who try to profit from ebay.

Its called doing business, you see a way to move more units and you do it. If the early adopters lose out, its part of being a early adopter. Great products and good news today, only thing i didnt like was the ringtones but their are ways around that.
