Apple adds ringtones to iTunes and iPhone

Starting tonight, you’ll be able to make ringtones out of songs you’ve already purchased in your ringtones library. Here’s the thing though, only 500,00 songs are eligible to be made in to ringtones (probably not Universal Music Group, har!). Is this free? Nope. In addition to spending that hard earned chedda’ on music, it’s going to take another $.99 cents to convert that song to ringtones. Sad, sad, world…

    Gizmodo –
    Safari: It’s the same Safari as on the iPhone. Flips, landscapes, pans, flicks, scrolls, and is built right into the iPod Touch. Other similar features: Google and Yahoo search.

    Theree songs that you have already purchased, I dont think that that is too much to ask. What is .99 cents? I mean from anyother wireless carrier including AT&T you have to spend 2.49 for the song. i think this is a great price plus you can pick the part of the song that you can turn into the ringtones. I say it sounds pretty sweet.

    @Stone: What is .99 cents?

    its not the money its the fact that its already been purchased, put on your computer and more than likely your iphone. So why should you have to pay any more to have it moved to a “ringtones” folder. I guess 1.98 is better than 2.49 though…….

    and it allows you to select a 30 part of the song to be your tone. I agree that i should be free but look at the alternatives. also as i posted above their are free alternatives for making your own, atleast gizmodo said there was.

    This is a good thing. I like that I get to customize my songs for the same price I’d have to pay for a default precut ringtone. I have restored my iPhone and am now patiently waiting the iTunes update.
