Apollo IM updated again
Ok, we know. But still, anyone fiendin’ for some AIM love on their iPhone has found a match made in heaven, so to speak. There have been countless updates to this application, and the best one…you ready…sound and vibrate alerts! Currently a limitation in Safari for web apps, this native iPhone Instant Messaging application finally delivers those much needed notifications in the BETA version 0.1. The developers didn’t stop there. In addition to adding that, they’ve polished the overall app, smoothed out the buddy list, added buddy info support, and even got a true "suspend" mode working with EDGE! Be sure to update it if you’re currently using it, and as always, let us know what you think.

This is gonna be SOOO USEFUL!!!! Until tomorrow….
B00! make then dedicated an non web based you retards. apple= band of arogent lamers/squares
gal= arrogant/lamer wanna be hacker who cant see innovation if is was right infront of him because he wants everything to be like a home built pc.
I downloaded this from installer.app but for some reason the “suspend” mode doesn’t really work. At first, I expected it to keep me online while the phone was locked. Then I realized that’s not what “suspend” is so I expected it to immediately sign me back on once I unlocked the phone and it doesn’t do that either. Hopefully that’s what it will be soon enough. Either way, great work!
Like this and previous versions, I still cannot see my Buddy list.
Btw, your screenshot is still from the first release. The Screen tab is now called “Options”.
Thanks,
Robert
Is this really safe tho? Are you 100% sure they dont steal our passwords?
I downloaded the app and installed it via iFuntastic, but when I click on the icon on my iPhone I just see the loading screen (with the rocket), and it stays there for a few seconds and then kicks me back to the Home screen.
Has anyone else had problems installing and running this app using iFuntastic? Any steps I’ve missed?
@ Justin
That’s a fair concern. I do feel pretty confident that isn’t the case, but you can never know unless we look at the source code directly. From everything I’ve seen, it looks like the ApolloIM client connects directly to the AIM server and no information is passed along to a third party, or seperate server.
Disregard my earlier comment… I did a reboot of the phone and now it works fine. Thanks.
