Well, many years ago, around 1999/2000 there was service from Lufthansa in Germany where you were bording by WAP, and it gave you on your mobile screen bar code. You went to gate with your cell phone, they scaned your bar code and you were admitted into plane.

After 9/11 they kill that service.

This exists already. I boarded an ANA flight from Tokyo last month using my mobile phone. All phones in Japan include a chip which is used as a subway, train or bus pass or to pay in stores (either as cash replacement or through a credit card system).
You pass your mobile phone over a machine which immediately prints out your boarding pass. Still have to queue up to check in your luggage though.

Why is this any better than just dipping your credit card into the kiosk and having the BP spit out, or better yet doing it at home or the office online before heading to the airport?

Speaking of those kiosks, I hate when a group of people go up that are in the same party, spreading across multiple kiosks while only using one, and I have to poke the people in front of the line to go squeeze in and use the vacant units (or I just get fed up, walk past them, and dip my card and go).
