Windows Mobile 6 coming to Samsung BlackJack on Sept. 17th?
Remember the Samsung Blackjack? Yeah, us either. Unfortunately for some (and fortunately for others), it sounds like that long lost Windows Mobile 6 upgrade might be just around the corner. Keep in mind that we’re dealing with conjecture and rumor right now, but that shouldn’t be a problem, right? It seems that both AT&T and Samsung have confirmed that the smartphone will be the proud recipient of a Windows Mobile 6 facelift on the 17th of September. The update, if it drops, will be made available by way of a carrier supported download. No word on when, or if, the OEM units will begin to ship with the new OS pre-installed. You Blackjack owners should keep your fingers crossed for this one, as it might be the last chance you have to squeeze some life out of your aging handset.

yeah windows 96 is coming to the samsung blackjack, i can’t believe people really buy this crap, am not saying the jesus phone is the best there is, but for it being apples first phone, its one hell of a good devide although people dont consider it a smartphone because its does not have apps like graffiti, which is really good for nothing than getting your LCDs dirty without geting nothing done

yeah i heard the 17th also. I can’t wait. I’m crossing my fingers that this update will address some of the nagging problems ppl have had with WM5 on the Blackjack. i just hope that this update comes with the awsome looking carousel ui.

NEWS FLASH!!! iPhone sucks BIG my Blackjack can blow it out of the water and hey, my Blackjack is almost a year old. Guess what the devil phone is two years out of date when you wasted your money on that shitty thing. And, honey, it’s windows 95 ya idiot, there was no 96, dumbass. If the devil phone is so great why doesn’t anybody use it for a business device? And same with Mac OS X? Oh yea, it’s because the devil phone has the worst keypad in the business and Mac’s OS has nothing can be related to anything business. Same with that damn brick you carry on your hip, what is it 2 pounds? So go beat on the Blackjack somewhere that anybody gives a shit, but not here. Once my BJ gets WM6 it’ll be punching that brick while it’s down. So piss off.

Jesus, why just because someone enjoys Windows Mobile 5 and is looking forward to Windows Mobile 6 that automatically makes them a Microsoft troll?
I’ve been using Windows Mobile 6 for a few months now and find it the best OS yet. Does that make me a Microsoft troll because I like the device and the OS that runs it?
Granted, he should have toned down or not gone into all the obvious Apple bashing (which you will notice mine is free of) but why do you have to call a person a troll because they obviously like their phone that happens to be running Microsoft software?
People, just stop hatin’! You like what you like, I like what I like. I don’t go out of my way to put you down about what you like, why do Apple users feel the need to go out of their way to dis Microsoft users?

Hey fellas, WM6 upgrade already rolled out in Europe for i600 : http://www.samsungmobile.com/promotion/i600/index.jsp
Warning though, i600 is NOT a Blackjack/i607 (we have 3G & Wifi enabled on it, and using this upgrade may brick your phone…)
Note : It is an official unbranded upgrade from Samsung, removing all operator menus and other proprietary crap

You completely missed the point of my post. I wasn’t calling him out because he likes WinMo. It’s because nobody really cares about why he hates the iPhone! Especially when he presents his arguments in a childish way. It was completely unwarranted.
I personally don’t care for the iPhone. I can’t type on it’s “keyboard” due to my large fingers. I might be a Macfag, but I am enjoying my two week old BlackJack and very interested in this OS update.
OH SAMSUNG AND APPLE, WON’T YOU PLEASE LET ME SYNC MY BLACKJACK?

I have found that my blackjack and the windows 95 computer that i still have (for some odd reason) run nothing alike in fact my XP comp runs more like WinMo 5 and WinMo 6 will run like the Sony Vista laptop I have and yes I do have a Macbook with the newest version of Mac’s OS and it runs more like the Win 95 comp I’ve got. So just to shank you while you’re down, My Vista runs better than that shitty Mac OS X.

I’m not sure what anyone is talking about…
I have NO problems with my Blackjack or Windows Mobile. I tend to find that most people end up having problems with their devices or software because they do too much tweaking or try to use it in a way it wasn’t designed. Same with Windows Vista. There are a bunch of critics saying how bad it is and how many problems they have. I haven’t had a single problem at all. No crashes. No lock ups. Nothing.
The Blackjack is a phone and should be used like a phone. Not a super computer.

I’ll be the first to admit that the iPhone is one hell of a device, but there isn’t a phone out in the United States that could even be directly compared to it, like you are doing with the BlackJack.
The BlackJack is a Windows Mobile smartphone while the iPhone is a hybrid media device/smartphone and more. I hate to say it, but it is like apples and oranges.

Sept. 17 No release on ATT’s or Samsungs website, I have called AT&T and Samsung and they are still saying they have no information to give reguarding an upgrade and the people to ask would be Microsoft! That call is just not worth my time

I have Premier Support with AT&T through my company, and I was just told by Premier Support that Samsung delayed the release, and it is now scheduled for October 1st.
