AT&T, we love you!

At least you guys are smart. I am personally thrilled that you no longer make visitors enter a ZIP code before checking out the latest phones and devices on your website. Every carrier needs to follow suit! It just slows you down, and is unecessary. Give us a break. We love lusting after those brand new mobile phones late at night. Scratch that, we get ‘em before any of you launch. Just please don’t give us the "pricing and availability" varies by location bit, OK’s? AT&T we love you!
AT&T: No ZIP code.
T-Mobile: No ZIP code.
Sprint: ZIP code required.
Verizon Wireless: ZIP code required.

must be a slow news day for boy genius crew. Can I be a writer for this blog? I think I have more imagination.

I am waiting for BG to get his hands on the North American N95 and see what he thinks.

At this point, BGR, it’s appropriate to say at&t DROPS zipcode requirement.

It seems like maybe it’s because GSM is covered nationwide so that you no longer need a zip code to check out what phone they offer.

I would agree that zipcode entering is stupid. I am not on high speed connection and Navigating Verizon’s website has to be the most time consuming and frustrating experience.

the reason that GSM network dont require you to put in a zipcode is becuase it doesnt matter where you are, signal sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And for a CDMA you either get really good signal or you dont get any signal.

sorry juan, ATT and verizon are equals in my area. pretty ignorant to think you know other people’s coverage.
do some research, CDMA is a dying tech, only Verizon and Sprint keep the tech alive, the world is GSM, for the most part.

Does this mean that they are abandoning their 50% rule?

In related news, I’ve logged onto view my account info on at&t’s site nearly every day for the past two weeks trying to decide on a new phone for my wife and I noticed when logging on early this morning that, upon logging in, I was presented with a full-screen page giving me the option to receive a paperless bill — no doubt a response to all the people annoyed by the book length bills they received after picking up an iPhone.
