Mercedes-Benz drivers get “Send to Car” feature on Google, Yahoo maps

As if the other half doesn’t live well enough. New to Mercedes-Benz vehicles is the addition of a "Send to Car" button on Google and Yahoo Maps. Navigate there via your computer or cell phone, hit the button, and it shoots maps, driving directions, even points of interest to your ride. When you enter the car, simply hit the "i" button, and it’s downloaded for your viewing pleasure. Even better? It allows other people to send you directions that you can download almost instantly. They officially call it "Search and Send" and it will show up on the S- and CL-Class Benz after September 5th, and on the entire 2008 C-Class lineup. Sounds like fun.

I’m not one for brand names, specially in the automobile industry (I don’t own a car), but my gadget loving self can’t but help the need to buy one now.
Wtf? No Maybach support?
Now that’s smart and handy.
I was pushing BMW towards this direction about 3 years ago with unsolicited calls and e-mails to their HQ about integrating their Navi system with Yahoo, which at the time had live traffic alerts. They said they couldn’t accept unsolicited suggestions. Take that BMW, you lose!
BG should give us a demo of this in his ride (one of a few).
Big deal… right now all I do on my BMW is copy the location and email it to my cell then punch it in the NAV. Either way you have to type on the PC or (in my case) the NAV.
It is good to have such systems in the car, it is quite useful and will help you while driving much
