NFLDirect offers live streaming football

Chances are good that if you went ahead and ponied up the $368 for a NFL Sunday Ticket subscription from DirectTV that you’ll make a point of sitting down in front of your 76" plasma every week. That said, if you happen to be on the road, NFLDirect is now offering a streaming version of every televised game. That’s a whole lotta’ football. The catch, of course, is that you have to be a Sunday Ticket subscriber, and you have to have a Windows-based computer. It’s not a bad option for the road warrior football fanatic. Unfortunately, there’s no option to view games a la carte, and the $368 package is a bit steep for most casual fans. Come out with a pay-per-use model here, and this could quickly become an incredibly useful service….come on, NFL!

    Never. Gonna. Happen.

At least not until 2010 or whenever DirecTV’s exclusive NFL contract is over.
