Sprint outs the Palm 690, says it’s being released October 14th

Yeah! We finally got a model number to go with Palm’s upcoming device. The one that will be the nail in their coffin. It’s called the Palm 690, but since it’s rumored to be a part of the Treo line, we’ll call it the Palm Treo 690. This one supposedly has keys the size of Tobiko. Again, Sprint Palm Treo 690 debuting on their "target" launch date of October 14th. Oh, and Sprint? Try not to get conned into accepting crappy devices anymore, mmmkay? Full shot after the jumpage!

Not surprising. The 7130, well, all of the 71 series devices, are the biggest pieces of shit since the Cadillac Cimmaron. Good riddance to ye!

    Hey theoutsider,

So sorry you feel that way. Have been using a BB 7130e since Dec., 2005. Have not had ANY problems of any kind with this model. It has proven to be stable and reliable.

It took me about a week to get used to the Suretype, and I can type very, very fast with it.

I plan to upgrade to a BB 8330e (CDMA)when it is released, or wait it out to see what RIM’s 9000 series models are like.

So…is this the same thing as the Palm Centro, or is it the CDMA version of the Treo 680?

It sort of seems redundant for Sprint to offer both the Centro and a low-end Treo…but hey, more choice is never a bad thing.

“Try not to get conned into accepting crappy devices anymore, mmmkay?” Funny you say that its usually USER ERROR which makes a decive crappy. You cant buy a PDA and and tweek it out with mods and expect it to work right. Thats like tweeking windows which usually results in a reformat (hard reset for PDA)
