AT&T’s BlackBerry 8820, Motorola RAZR 2 V9 and V3xx colors
Thanks to AT&T’s latest handset pricing sheet, we’ve nailed down some information on the BlackBerry 8820, Motorola RAZR V9, and some new Motorola V3xx colors, too. First things first, the BlackBerry 8820 will effectively replace the current BlackBerry 8800 on AT&T. Pricing hasn’t changed since first reports, clocking in at a whopping $549.99 to buy the handset outright. Motorola’s new flagship phone, the Motorola RAZR 2 V9 also bears a hefty no contract price of $519.99. After you digest the first two tidbits, have a gander at the Motorola V3xx — looks like they’re launching two new colors for it. Platinum red, and platinum pink. Want to take a gander at the whole doc? Of course you do! Hit it below.

Well it could be a great phone but I didn’t spend that much on an iPhone (no I didn’t get one) to go and spend it on a BB that as excited as I am doesn’t have a 3G.

Hey BG, is that pantech c180, the slide smart phone you talked about months ago?

I’m not happy about the blackberry data plan required. I’m not a big data user, when a data plan costs nearly as much as the voice plan and even more than what I can get a broadband cable connection to my home. I don’t see how I can justify it.
does that even balance out? I don’t have any specs but wouldn’t voice transmission use alot more bandwidth than say checking email or even browsing the internet. From my perspective this type of nominal use should be complimentary features.
anyway thats my opinion…

I agree with people. The data plans are too expensive. I’d pay a additional $9.99 at most. Is there final word whether the wifi will be locked down or work with any publicly available wifi network? $549.99… ouch… I wonder if you can get the 8820 for $299 with a 2yr contract and get the BB data plan then cancel the BB data plan?

$549? no thanks…refurb htc 8525 on cingular for only $150…wifi,3g,2meg cam, no data plan required for wifi use

boo no kaiser/tilt/8925 info.
in comparison to the rest of the world, we get data dirt cheap. try paying 20 for 5 mb. then complain about expensive data.

You can buy the 8820 on 2 year contract with the data plan and cancel it later… Just make sure you get your mail-in rebate first (10-12 weeks).

blackberry data plan is not like normal data plans. honestly if your getting a blackberry for the phone only the its a waste, no push, no data then BB is not for you.
8820 is the same price as 8800, not like they were going to drop the price for adding wifi.
Still want to see the Kaiser/Tilt price, but iphone is looking pretty good again for me.

What’s the latest regarding the Motorola Q9 for AT&T? I thought August 24 was the day, but I haven’t heard or seen anything.
Thanks!

Where is the Q9 from ATT ?

The platinum pink V3xx is already out. I love it.
For some reason this chart lists Pantech’s C810 (their Ocean-like smartphone) as the C180. Misprint much?

So, NO at&t Tilt 8925 until late Sept, early Oct at this rate. Although, their warehouses could be still taking shipments Sept 3rd in just to stock up like how the iPhone release went.

Would it be fair to say that Apple’s iPhone has set the bar on pricing, i.e., $500 to $600 to buy handsets outright?
On another note, in Canada for Unlimited Data, Bell Mobility charges $60.00/month, which is no longer available on an unlimited basis.
Voice charges are $20.00 per device if one has a Business Plan. Features
such as Caller ID, Voice mail, etc. are extra although can be cheaper if one has them ‘bubdled.’
Am mentioning above because I don’t think Americans realize or appreciate how inexpensive your mobile phone rates are.
Just so you know.

Correction:
‘bubdled’ should read ‘bundled.’

It’s weird that the…Kaiser…10 days to drop…isn’t listed on the sheet.

AT&T Business care knows nothing about the 8820 still. I want it now!

at&t is being very greedy with the v9.. Think I,ll just get a v8 or just wait a while and get the v9 on ebay for what at&t wants for it with contract.. ive seen that with many phones. v3i v3xx krzr etc.

I’m sorry all other countries suck.. really.. that’s bad that you guys are getting reamed that hard and I don’t think it should be that high there either.
If I could use my blackberry just at public / home hotspots without a data plan I’d be covered more then enough. I don’t need instantly delivered e-mail every second of the day.. most people probbly don’t but they are addicted. But if I could get in range of a hotspot now and then maybe 2 times a day to download new mail great.
So I still think the blackberry could be for me, I just don’t think it is tailored for people like me. Just because i’m not a CEO doesn’t mean I don’t want a powerful and sleek device.

Stop cry crying about att high rates move to anthoer gsm carrier aka tmo us. Every other person here knows att plays the exclusivality whore game to get you think you have no choice but to sighn up for high rates. An yeah if you wanna dodge the contract extession you have to buy outright.
As ben stein recently said on your world the US is a low cost country but not for long and americans had better get used to it.

Why does ATT not offer insurance on the bulk of their advanced devices???

cause its a money pit, they are not in business to lose money.
