iPhone unlocking part XIV

This is getting a little bit ridiculous. Every week, a new service or process seems to emerge offering full unlocking for your iPhone. The problem, at least until now, is that the unlocking has been either too complicated, too time consuming, or too "located in Hong Kong."  iPhone-Sim-Free claims to do away with all of that nastiness, offering what they claim to be "the worlds first (and only) software driven sim unlocking service for the iPhone(tm)." Sounds pretty straightforward to us. Their company is currently offering 3 free unlocks to "top press" prior to releasing the beta version of their software sometime within the next 48 hours. These dudes don’t play. We’re excited to see where this goes, and it looks like we’ll get a pretty good look. Stay tuned for more info as it surfaces.

its all keeping the iphone in the news too, good work. Its going to be unlocked sooner or later. I doubt Apple really cares, AT&T however would. Personally i like seeing all the apps and hacked apps that are getting on there.

Aww, come on people. Why worry about unlocking. You’ve only got 5 measly years to wait for everyone else to get their copy. but yeah, I am glad to see this. It’s nice to see people still “Stickin it to the man.”

Queue up a Cease and desist Court Order from Apple/at&t in 3…2…1….

Seriously, I think this is cool. but what about the at&t only features like the visual voicemail? won’t that stop working once you switch carriers?

yeah but visual voicemail wont stop people from doing it. Unlocking would allow you to use it on Tmobile and some other international GMS carriers around the world. Those Tmobile customers are the ones i think want this asap. Apple isnt losing that much from the unlocks, they only get a small portion of the monthly service. ATT could stop this and might do so. I hope they think well if we get a 3G iphone out then Tmo customers would not be able to use the 3G so that would deter them a little more.

We’re heading into the 72 hour zone now — it’s been more than 48 hours now. Aside from some Engadget blogger posting pics and a glowing review, there’s no release. Plain and simple, I call BS. Another iPhone unlock fraud.
