Save $100 on an Apple iPhone
Is $499 or $599 just a bit too much to compel you to join the iPhone revolution? Relax, friends. The Apple Refurbished Store has come to your rescue. Apple is now selling iPhones for $100 less than the list price. That effectively brings the 4GB version to $399, and the 8GB version to a cool $499. The catch? They’re refurbished. As we all know, "refurbished" can mean a number of different things, ranging from "packaging blemish" to "returned and rebuilt defective unit". As such, your mileage may vary, but trust that Apple has, as always seen fit to include a full manufacturer’s warranty. From where we’re standing, this looks to be the cheapest way to bring that long lost iPhone love into your life. Enjoy!

Well I think I can save up 400 faster than 500. But Im still scared to jump on the iPhone train. Be my luck that I buy the iPhone and a week later Jobs comes out with iPhone 2.0!
With this price does anyone think I should take the plunge?

The best way to get rid of temptation is to yield to it.

take it, I’ve bought ipods from the refurb apple store and no regrets. And if you wait for the new one you will always be waiting, just buy one and enjoy it.

sorry the fact that ther with American Take and Torment is bad enogh to scare me off. i can wait 2 years hi service fees don’t roll with me

Yea but why would you buy one I mean it’s still $399 fro something that doesn’t have 3G. And it’s a little bit behind on the processing power guys, so you should wait for a…Kaiser…14 days to drop…

Is surfing the web on the Kaiser the same as the iPhone?
Not sure if I can go back to WM devices after the iPhone.

Seeing that they are refurbished, could that possibly mean they are unlocked as well?

Jeff, im all for the Kaiser too but if you want the best browsing then iphone is still going to win. And if your an apple fan then iphone wins.
WM still sux but the Kaiser/ Tilt might be the one i take a chance on.
if not then the iphone looks like my best choice as there’s no GSM 3G in my area now anyways. atleast not for another year or two.

I don’t really know what the browser will be like on the Kaiser but the devil phone takes it on mobile browsing all the way and I am an Apple fan but if you need it for anything useful or to throw on 3rd party apps or GPS or browse the internet faster than 200kb/s or hey even type without major spelling errors and having to re-type the whole message cause it didn’t get it right the first time then you should definitely get a Kaiser. It just wins.

I would just like to say that I bought this phone and I am taking it back after 5 days of having it. It is not business friendly at all!

Jeff its still WM, i like all the features it has but WM still blows.
and yes the browsing on the iphone is great. For some of us att has no 3G anywhere close so that limits the some of the features. I’ll wait to see about the Tilt but WM still blows, put apple software on the tilt and i would be sold.

So how is it possible Apple/AT&T have that many refurb units given that short time frame the device has been out?
how many do they have, i have read nothing telling any numbers?
i know with their computers they put up refurbs with as few as 20 or 30 to sell so who knows how many iphones refurbs their are available.

I know WM5 isn’t the best but have you ever used WM6? WM6 is supposed to be a good OS and I’m not going to make any judgments until I have had 1st hand experience with a WM6 device like I only dissed the lil’ devil cause it had bad and slow tech in it but I didn’t touch the OS until I used one and after using one I realized that Apple has A LOT of bugs in there. So don’t judge something until you’ve used it.
@Michael
They have lots of devil phone refurbs since people like Leigh have a clue on what a piece of shit it is and bring back their lil’ devils to get something real. I’m sure you know that once somebody brings one of them back to get a real phone, they have to send them out for refurbishing so people think whatever was wrong with it was fixed, if there was anything wrong with it in the first place, which there most likely wasn’t since it was just a returned piece of merchandise.

I must be missing something here. Are people actually prepared to pay $500 to $600 to use a phone to browse on the internet?
I’ll use a laptop for that and a BlackBerry for everything else. BTW CDMA BlackBerrys are very fast for browsing, but you already knew that!

I like your idea CarBob, but isn’t that more expensive than a devil phone? Although i would rather pay high prices for current and fast technology rather than old and slow technology.

bob, speed isnt everything. the BB browser is not good, atleast in my opinion. and no, you dont buy anything for just the browser. And if blackberry would put out a full device then that would be nice.
no phone does everything well in my opinion, you choose whats you needs the most, for BB its email, for iphone its media and browsing. Kaiser/Tilt, not sure yet?

@mikeyp
You have to agree with me here, the Kaiser/Tilt does everything. But wait, it might not do everything well but it does do basically everything. Is it as good as BB at e-mail? F**k no. Does it have a browser like the devil? Hell no, but its not a horrible browser. Does it do basically everything? Yes. Does it do basically everything well? F**k no but it is a step in the right direction and someday something like the Kaiser/Tilt will do everything well but for now you’d need three different phones to do everything well. That’s my take on the whole situation. Agree with it or not that’s what I think.

mikeyp,
Your right, “no phone does everything
well” but BlackBerrys have proven their reliability to be superior over the years, and with each new model that RIM releases, they are getting better all the time.
Rumour has it the BB 9000 series will have all the features that everyone wants in a phone, including 3G.
2008 should be a VERY good year for BlackBerrys.

Good luck with that tilt. 8525 with 5.0 sucks. Upgraded to 6.0 just to see if it could compete on ease of use with the iPhone. It can’t do it! Neither will the tilt. Back too the iPhone. Good luck with the tilt. Make sure you find out where the reset button is first.
Go for the iPhone!

Why would there be a reset button on a cell phone? The only reason why the iPhone has such an easy to use interface is the same reason all the apple computers are easy to use, it’s because they were designed by retards to be used by retards.
Yes I know the 8525 has a shitload of problems, why do you think I don’t have one? HTC fixed all those freezing up problems with the Kaiser by adding some firmware that is supposed to know when a freeze/crash is about to occur, notify you, and give you options on how to make sure it doesn’t. Keep in mind this is all HTC that did this, it has nothing to do with the WM6 OS. I’m not sure if att found out about that and got rid of it or not but HTC says that the only units that should freeze are defective and should be returned to the manufacturer/place of purchase.Plus the 400mhz chip that is light years above apples little 50mhz chip alleviates the time it takes to process something thus keeping the devices memory and chip load a lot lighter. So like hell anybody with a brain would get a devil phone rather than a Kaiser. The Kaiser is just a smarter and better device.

Dude…Good luck with that. I will be interested in seeing what happens with the Kaiser; however, I am not willing to fork over anymore money for a WM platform. THEY CRASH Or I spend my entire day closing programs that are open to avoid it! Jasjam, 8525, 8125, Qtek 9100, Blackjack & Motorola Q. Owned them all and I would take the Iphone any day of the week!

So you would take something with old, slow technology rather than something with the newest, best tech? Have fun with the old tech and all the frustrations that come with slow, old technology. My Blackjack hasn’t ever crashed on me running WM5. Although it has slowed because of its mediocre processor, it hasn’t ever crashed on me.

an thos ginormous bills for old 2k4 tech

Damn Straight, I just don’t get why you would pay $500+ for old tech. I just don’t get the logic.
