Geeeesh, Like many waited for what? I bought the iPhone to see if I would like moreover my Q. Yes and no. ATT is much slower than Verizon. But my Q has many bugs. I think I’m switching to the 8830. Verizon like Sprint…..boring phones in comparison to ATT. Why not the curve for Verizon.

Ok, I looked at the verizon “testman” site & compared the original Q with the Q9.

The specs for the VZ Q9 don’t say anything about WM6… anyone know why? The OS upgrade is one of the main reasons I’m considering the phone.

This is a joke, almost identical to my current Q + a few tweeks that are easy to implement.

WM6 since the phones are so similar (old Q Q9m)we will probably be able to port the new WM6 onto it.

this may be the last year of my contract with Verizon.

The at&t version looks much much better! Color wise, and under the hood with an added 2 mega pix camera. I’d give the GSM version a whirl, but doubt it could replace my Curve!

And the Q9h been ready to release it looks almost like the q9m. I played with the q9h at a best buy wireless tech tour almost 6 months ago. So people like to say how verizon takes to long to release phones, cingular is no better.

Its a Mini SD. But they dont carry Mini SD in retail stores anymore. You have to get a Micro SD kit that comes with a Mini SD adapter the 4gb is 99 dollars at verizon.

You guys are just hating on Verizon. If the phone is 300 or 200 dollars, its still worth the money. You get windows mobile 6.0, stereo bluetooth, SDHC memory card slot(which means Secure Digital High Capacity so when the 8g micro sd kit comes out you can use it and samsung just release a 16gb). True the camera could have been better. And it also has documents to go. Which means you can veiw and edit word, excel and power point. Remember the old Q could not do that.

The feature is listed as “modem-link”ing in the Q 9h User-Manual.

I will def. look into that. I do have a preference for Verizon even though they don’t offer 3G, and even though they don’t have the Q9h, which i feel looks much better than the Q9m and has more memory & a better camera.

Seems Verizon got the short end of the stick with this Q9 series.

I thought one of the features of the Q9h was its capability to be used as a modem (with your laptop). :-/

I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure it should work right out of the box as a [3g] modem

The camera could have definitely used an upgrade. And the color scheme is a bit annoying.

But for those who are considering the iPhone what are you thinking???? I would jump on an iPhone however i use my Q for my biz and the thought of having to return my iPhone to the factory every time the battery needs to be replaced (every 300 charges) is just nonsense. I can’t afford to be without a phone for my business for a week. What are they thinking? Now i have 2 extra batteries all charged and ready to go with me when i’m on the road. My laptop i have 2 extra batteries too for those long flights when I won’t be near an outlet. I could never consider buying an iPhone under those terms.

Anyway, back to the Q, I’m hoping WM6 is greatly improved in terms of file management and overall user experience. I do make great use of my Q hack with pdaNEt that turns my Q into a modem. I hope the Q9 will allow this as well.

Previously Motorola has this announcement about the Q9h http://direct.motorola.com/hellomoto/motoq9h/ then on May 15th they had this announcement http://www.motorola.com/mediacenter/news/detail.jsp?globalObjectId=8154_8083_23 which clearly updated the name Motorola Q 9 (no longer Q9h) now AT&T may call it the Q9h, I don’t care as long as its out next week as leaked or pretty darn soon.

Either way, the Q9m is just not worth it, but the Q9 (aka Q9h) is worth paying my ETF to move over. Oh Yeah.

We’re on the same boat. At&t is simply sitting on their pot of gold. They aren’t doing their customers or product justice.

We already know the Q9h has been ready for quite some time, they need to move along with the release.

I will admit, after seeing the price for the Q9m for Verizon, I am a bit disappointed.
I knew I’d be paying a good price for the Q9, but I was hoping it would be less than $500.
Seeing as to how At&t has the pimped out version of the Q9, I can only assume (in fact I will) that the device will be even more [costly]. I hopeing it won’t quite be as steep as the European models price (import). If so, I’ll have wasted my time waiting.

Nope, AT&T is still releasing the Moto Q 9h, it’s the GSM/UMTS version. This Verizon Q 9m is the same hardware as the original Q, it’s just a different body and it runs WM6. The AT&T 9h is a completely updated phone. Check http://www.qusers.com

I cant honestly see this going for more then 249 with a 2 year contract. Hardware wise, its pretty much the same as the original Q and it has a nicer design and Windows Mobile 6. I think the 199 on the test site is more what it will be. Looks nice though…

AT&T may be sitting on the Q9 (no longer called Q9h) but the Q9m is NOT the same thing, its a lesser Moto Q9 and that is a clear fact.

Just picked up a BB 8830 and love it but very interested in the new Q – more just to see if the Win Mobile bugs have been fixed. The phone looks stunning, Moto always makes a quality product, hopefully the battery life is improved & maybe (maybe!!) WM6 is the real deal.

For those of us who have been waiting for the Q9h with bated breath for almost a year, it’s discraceful that Verizon beat AT&T to the Q9 punch. Final units of the Q9h have been out for weeks. Am I the only one who is bothered that AT&T is just sitting on the units while they become outdated?

Looks like a BB 8830 minus the trackball and the stable OS. If this thing ran on Linux instead of the buggy Win Mobile, I would consider it.
