HTC Vogue/Touch coming to Sprint

Forgive us, Sprint, as we have maligned you without cause. The American CDMA carrier is set to receive one of the most talked about Windows Mobile devices of the year. Revealed during Sprint’s annual day-long technology summit, the drop hasn’t been made official yet, but it was revealed to a number of employees, execs, and other attendees. The naming convention is a bit weird, as HTC’s technical designation for the CDMA version of the Touch is the HTC Vogue. That said, Sprint has decided to re-brand the Vogue as the Sprint Touch. Full circle, we suppose. Names aside, this is essentially the same device we’ve been hearing about for a while now. 400 MHz processor, EV-DO connectivity upgradeable to Rev. A., and HTC’s TouchFLO interface. It will also have a GPSone chip, compatible with TeleNav. Ah, yes, the good ole’ TeleNav. No word on drop date, but we expect this to be part of Sprint’s attempt to counteract the iPhone flood. Anyone think they’re going to have to try a wee bit harder…?

I’ve been using Sprint’s services for over 2 years. Their data network is far superior to any of the other players. If I had to go to another network it would be Verizon over AT&T. Everyone with an IPhone is getting ripped off using AT&T’s network.

I use the 6700 for work and like the keyboard. I like the thought though of being able to use more of the touch features. I will probably wait and see the reviews from the market before I upgrade.
As far as Sprint overall, I give them a C. The biggest complaint in my area is the number of dead spots where my friends with AT&T and Verizon don’t have the problem. The next complaint I have with Sprint is the fact that they are behind in releasing the latest and greatest. While they are lagging behind the IPhone trying to catch up Apple and AT&T are working on the next best thing. Finally my last compaint is Sprint’s lack of customer appreciation. If you are a long time customer and would like to upgrade your phone you had for less then a year, you have to pay full sticker price for the new phone. If you are a non Sprint customer, you get a tremendous discount of $150 dollas off or more. To me that is a slap in the face.
I have been a Sprint customer for close to 10 years. I will be switching services as soon as as my two year term is up. If I were Sprint’s CEO I would FIRST start plugging the dead spots. Second I would fire everyone in market reasearch and development and get some visionaries that can lead the Tech craze. Third and last I would treat current customers like the bread and butter so you don’t loose your market share.
Good luck Sprint with your new phone next year but I’m done with you until you get your head out of your…

The Touch is great I would get this phone but next year Sprint releases the nokia 800. 4in screen, full web pages, build in gps. You cant go wront with this phone. The only problem with the Touch is the 2.8 screen, if it was 3.0 or 3.5 it would rock.

Acording to the information that i have learned the N800 will be WiMax only, It would be supper cool if it had a CDMA Chip in it, but i dought it, nokia has stated that they were not going to make this serieas in to a phone becuase of the way manufactures dictate phone design.
